TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Gone But Not Forgotten: Hall of Famer and resident giant David Codding, who joined the league in 2001 and had vowed to retire if he ever rolled a 300 game. It became clear this time was close when ge began rolling 200+ games between-the-legs on fun night -- and these were legitimate strikes mind you. On October 2, 2012, in his third game on lanes 45&46, David finally achieved his goal and became the first bowler in our league to roll a perfect game. True to his word, he retired from bowling at the end of that season.
The number 4 was a powerful number this season:
- This was the 4th best season in league history in terms of # of 200+ games, with 206. An incredible 22 of those were on the final night of the season -- the highest number of 200+ games ever rolled on the final night of any season, and the 3rd highest number of 200+ games rolled in any single week, ever!
- This was the 4th best season in terms of 600+ series, with 51 rolled
- The championship team are the 4th best team in league history in terms of team power rank (as of this writing)
- The championship team also had the 4th best first-half win record in league history
