Nominee – Seth Gunderson

Seth Gunderson is a nominee for induction into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame during the Spring 2013 season. Gunderson made his debut in the league during the Spring 2001 session, having rolled in 17 of our twenty seven seasons to date. With five champions under his belt – including a league record 4-consecutive titles – Seth came out on top during the Fall 2004, Spring 2005, Fall 2005, Spring 2006, and the Spring 2011 seasons. Only four other bowlers in league history have more titles than Seth, three of which are Hall of Famers. Currently ranked as the 23rd best bowler in league history, this gritty kid from the streets of Arkansas shows up in a number of Top 25 lists (typically in the top ten) such as Bowlers Handing Out the Most Sweeps, Most Games Won by a Bowler, Most MVB Runner-Ups, and Most Prolific Bowler. He's also been a big winner in the Season Favorites, having taken Captain of the Season three times as well as runner-up four more times. Doubtfully not his original intent, Seth is the sole creator of the legend of The Belt – a tool belt received during his VML days of working on the Bayer team. Anyone on his team that strikes gets to wear The Belt until the next teammate strikes. This tradition has lasted throughout the majority of the league's history, coinciding with any season in which Seth is bowling.Anyone that has ever bowled with or against Gunderson can attest to his kind, comical demeanor. Despite being a fierce competitor, he's been consistently tagged as one of the nicest people to ever have bowled in the league. Three times he's been named the runner-up for the Bob Brunker Good Sportsmanship Award due to his gentle personality. Here are a few comments about Seth from those that nominated him:

Rarely does he let his competitiveness – which is there, beneath his smiling exterior – get the best of him. He's always there with a smile, a pat on the back, and a joke to anyone within arm's reach. While Ian Goetz was still swimming about mindlessly inside one of his father's testicles, Seth Gunderson was well on the way to becoming the personality that earns him a Hall of Fame nomination. It doesn't matter if your team is the next Sweep The Leg or the next Munson'd -- if Seth Gunderson is on your team you are guaranteed to have one of your favorite seasons ever!Because I'm a total bad ass! Think about it, man, I have tied the record for the most consecutive titles. That alone, in a league dominated by the Kens and Carls, is amazing enough!

The GutterAlley Hall of Fame Screening Committee is proud to put Seth up for enshrinement.
