Nominee – Jason Carpio

Jason Carpio is a nominee for induction into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame during the Fall 2013 season.

Carpio joined the league in the Fall of 2002. Over the course of 17 seasons, his improvement has allowed him to make his mark on the lanes along the way. Twelve times he's been the Most Valuable Bowler, making him the league's all-time leader in that realm, and was named the #1 Power Ranked Bowler seven times. In the Spring 2004 session, Carpio was the league's Actual Most Valuable bowler immediately after having been the season's runner-up in the Fall of 2003. He earned a championship trophy in the Spring 2006.The recently released Top 25 lists showcase his name quite a bit. You'll find Carpio's name – typically in one of the top ten spots – on the following lists: Most Prolific Bowlers, Most Games Won by Bowler, Most MVBs, Most MVB Runner-Ups, Bowlers with the Most 200+ Games, Bowlers with the Most 200+ Games in a Single Season, Bowler's Handing Out the Most Sweeps, and currently sits as the 15th Best Bowler in league history. Also, as of this writing, he is the 2nd Most Improved Bowler ever throughout our 28 seasons.Off the lanes, Jason's contributions to the league have been tremendous. Several times when the league was not even close to having a full roster, Carpio stepped in and brought in additional bowlers – sometimes full teams – to roll on Tuesday nights. While others have enlisted bowlers that came in for a season and then disappeared, Carpio's new recruits are scattered throughout the list of bowlers eligible for the Hall of Fame meaning that they stuck with the league for at least two years. Here are a few comments about Carpio from those that nominated him:

While his prowess on the lanes has always kept his team in contention for the title, it's his actions off the lanes that warrant me taking the time to nominate Carpio. In all of the years we've been bowling, Carpio has introduced more new bowlers into the league than anyone but the league president.Though he left VML years ago, he has continued to bowl in the VML bowling league. He has always brought his best game, his best attitude, and his best smile.Jason has probably saved the league from faltering on more than one occasion. It would be a crime to overlook his contributions. The Hall of Fame was created to honor those bowlers who have made contributions both on and off the lanes. Jason Carpio has certainly exceeded in both areas. He's also a top bowler, with a 286 high game and a 664 high series, and his 8 MVBs and 7 #1 power rankings put him near the very top among league performers.

The GutterAlley Hall of Fame Screening Committee is proud to put Jason up for enshrinement.
