The Spring 2003 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Four bowlers set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games. Janelle (Laube) Lamar picked up this week's high game (172) and series (496) for the women, while Thomas Lin earned this week's high game (217) and series (593) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: D-Day couldn't stop inappropriately groping Top Guns. Reinforced by Demond Robinson with his 496 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Nik Domann, D-Day split the series with Top Guns. On the flipside, Pat Searcy took the lead in Top Guns with his 573 as they matched their opponent in wins. D-Day starts out in 5th place, while Top Guns commence the season with 4th.
On lanes 19 & 20: When Push Comes To Shove deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Canned Crabs. Headlined by Dennis Laube with his 523 series, the Shovers collected 3 wins against the Crabs. As for the opposition, Eric Lynch laid down the law in the Crabs with his 466 despite his team notching only a single win. When Push Comes To Shove begins the season in 2nd place, while the Crabs begin in 7th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Spanked spent a romantic evening with The Good Sons. Topped by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Thomas Lin and his 593 series, Spanked celebrated a clean sweep over the Sons. In the midst of this, Tracey Robertson showed off in the Sons with her 344 despite her team getting swept. Spanked leaves the gate in 1st place, while the Sons get rolling in 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Hulk Smash! couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Despite the strength of Carl Goetz with his 534 series, the Hulk accomplished only 1 win against Mass Destruction. Concurrently, Jarrod Guthrie shined in Mass Destruction with his commanding 474 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hulk Smash! begins with 6th place, while Mass Destruction starts off with 3rd.
Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: David Codding (200), Dennis Laube (213), Pat Searcy (204), and Thomas Lin (212,217)
New personal high games were set tonight by Dennis Laube (213, previous best 200), Jason Carpio (191, previous best 178), and Shannon Myers (150, previous best 148). NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 17&18, 8th-place The Good Sons (estimated hcp 199) will chuck some balls with 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction. The Sons are expected to splendid and sweep the series; while Mass Destruction is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 1st-place Spanked will tussle with 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 92). Spanked might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Hulk ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 4th-place Top Guns will hang out with 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 114). Top Guns will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to sweep the series; while the Crabs will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 5th-place D-Day (estimated hcp 27) will spend some quality time with 2nd-place When Push Comes To Shove. D-Day is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Shovers are anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
