Spring 2003 Week 3 Robo-RecapThe third week of Spring 2003 saw four teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and four rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (204) and series (515) for the women. As for the men, David Codding snagged this week's high game with a 225, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 595. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Spanked kept grabbing the balls of Canned Crabs. Although topped by Jim Jones with his 453 series, Spanked accomplished only 1 win against the Crabs. On the other side, Ray Haynes oversaw the Crabs with his above-average 337 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Spanked plummets 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while the Crabs move 1 spot to 7th.

week3On lanes 19 & 20: D-Day kept stealing sips of beer from Bowlers of Mass Destruction. In spite of top-billing by Demond Robinson with his above-average 527 series, D-Day accomplished only 1 win against Mass Destruction. On the adjacent lane, Corey Weinfurt guided Mass Destruction with his above-average 483 as his team took the series with 3 wins. D-Day remains in 6th place, while Mass Destruction moves 1 spot to 3rd.

On lanes 21 & 22: Hulk Smash! hung out with When Push Comes To Shove. Reinforced by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Carl Goetz and his astounding 595 series, the Hulk collected 3 wins against the Shovers. Across the ball return, David Codding mastered the Shovers with his 564 despite his team notching only a single win. Hulk Smash! leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the Shovers sink 1 spot to 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Top Guns couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of The Good Sons. Showcasing Pat Searcy with his below-average 529 series, Top Guns collected 3 wins against the Sons. Countering this, Tracey Robertson took the lead in the Sons with her above-average 371 despite her team notching only a single win. Top Guns leap 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while the Sons sink 1 spot to 8th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (214,211), Corey Weinfurt (201), David Codding (225), David Parre (209), Freda Schroeder (204), Jason Carpio (201), and Pat Searcy (205)

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 2nd-place When Push Comes To Shove will chuck some balls with 8th-place The Good Sons (hcp 166). The Shovers are expected to tank their averages considerably as they get swept; while the Sons are forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 4th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 60) will match wits with 1st-place Top Guns. The Hulk might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Top Guns ought to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 6th-place D-Day (hcp 32) will face 5th-place Spanked. D-Day will likely maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Spanked; while Spanked will probably drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction will hang out with 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 92). Mass Destruction is predicted to perform well and win the series; while the Crabs are anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
