Spring 2003 Week 9 Robo-RecapThe ninth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Michelle Tollefson landed this week's high game for the women with a 160, and women's high series was bagged by Janelle (Laube) Lamar with a 414. As for the men, Thomas Lin snagged this week's high game with a 240, and high series was earned by Pat Searcy with a 598. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Spanked matched wits with The Good Sons. Showcasing #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Thomas Lin and his splendid 563 series, Spanked collected 3 wins against the Sons. In the meantime, Steve Robinson mastered the Sons with his commanding 468 despite his team notching only a single win. Spanked remains in 8th place, while the Sons sink 1 spot to 6th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 19 & 20: Hulk Smash! had a rendezvous with Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Starring Carl Goetz with his below-average 518 series, the Hulk collected 3 wins against Mass Destruction. In the midst of this, Justin Strelow guided Mass Destruction with his 452 despite his team notching only a single win. Hulk Smash! leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Mass Destruction sinks 1 spot to 2nd.

On lanes 21 & 22: When Push Comes To Shove tussled with Canned Crabs. With the strength of David Parre with his 519 series, the Shovers collected 3 wins against the Crabs. On the adjacent lane, Eric Lynch reigned supreme in the Crabs with his below-average 462 despite his team notching only a single win. When Push Comes To Shove remains in 4th place, while the Crabs remain in 7th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: D-Day shared a platter of cheese sticks with Top Guns. With top billing by #1 Head-to-Head Ken M. Wilson and his above-average 558 series, D-Day celebrated a clean sweep over Top Guns. Concurrently, Pat Searcy shined in Top Guns with his above-average 598 despite his team getting swept. D-Day leaps 2 spots in the standings to 1st place, while Top Guns sink 1 spot to 3rd.

Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (202), Ken M. Wilson (202), Pat Searcy (235,214), and Thomas Lin (240)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Demond Robinson dominated Division 1, while Ken M. Wilson eradicated Division 2. Shannon Myers claimed victory in Division 3, and Marca Robinson whipped Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy holds the reins in Division 1; Ken M. Wilson governs Division 2; Shannon Myers dominates Division 3; and Marca Robinson tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Top Guns will match wits with 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 137). Top Guns are expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Crabs are forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 1st-place D-Day (hcp 25) will throw some gutter balls with 4th-place When Push Comes To Shove. D-Day might perform well and win the series; while the Shovers ought to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 8th-place Spanked will chuck some balls with 5th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 55). Spanked will likely roll decently, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Hulk will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 6th-place The Good Sons (hcp 93) will spend some quality time with 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction. The Sons are predicted to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Mass Destruction is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
