The fifteenth week of Spring 2003 saw one team climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (185) and series (486) for the women. As for the men, Thomas Lin snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 594. Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Bowlers of Mass Destruction had a rendezvous with Top Guns. Topped by Most Valuable Bowler Justin Strelow and his remarkable 526 series, Mass Destruction celebrated a clean sweep over Top Guns. Simultaneously, Pat Searcy took the lead in Top Guns with his below-average 506 despite his team getting swept. Bowlers of Mass Destruction remains in 1st place, while Top Guns remain in 3rd.
On lanes 19 & 20: When Push Comes To Shove tussled with Spanked. Showcasing #1 Head-to-Head David Codding and his above-average 594 series, the Shovers collected 3 wins against Spanked. Concurrently, Thomas Lin showed off in Spanked with his above-average 540 despite his team notching only a single win. When Push Comes To Shove remains in 4th place, while Spanked sinks 1 spot to 8th.
On lanes 21 & 22: The Good Sons matched wits with D-Day. Regardless of the star power of Steve Robinson with his above-average 462 series, the Sons got swept by D-Day. Meanwhile, #1 Power-Ranked Nik Domann oversaw D-Day with his exceptional 531 as they swept the competition. The Good Sons drop 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while D-Day remains in 2nd.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Canned Crabs couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Hulk Smash!. Demonstrating the prowess of Eric Lynch with his 496 series, the Crabs celebrated a clean sweep over the Hulk. In the meantime, Carl Goetz drew the spotlight in the Hulk with his 555 despite his team getting swept. Canned Crabs leap 3 spots in the standings to 5th place, while the Hulk sinks 1 spot to 7th.
Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: David Codding (230), Dennis Laube (202), Nik Domann (200), and Thomas Lin (234)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz eradicated Division 1, while Jim Jones mopped up Division 2. Justin Strelow shut down Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 4 as it was a complete embarassment. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize!
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 17&18, 1st-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction will meet with 2nd-place D-Day (hcp 2). Mass Destruction is expected to perform well and win the series; while D-Day is forecast to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Top Guns will socialize with 4th-place When Push Comes To Shove (hcp 4). Top Guns might perform well and sweep the series; while the Shovers ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 5th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 2) will chill with 6th-place The Good Sons. The Crabs will likely have a bit of an off night, but split the series with the Sons; while the Sons will probably drop their average a bit while keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 7th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 52) will tussle with 8th-place Spanked. The Hulk is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Spanked is anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
