The Spring 2003 season draws to a close, with D-Day officially earning this season's championship title! The final week saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (165) and series (443) for the women, while Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (214) and series (542) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Bowlers of Mass Destruction spent a romantic evening with D-Day. Notwithstanding the leadership of Justin Strelow with his above-average 495 series, Mass Destruction managed only 1.5 wins against D-Day. While that was going down, Demond Robinson ruled D-Day with his above-average 515 as his team took the series with 2.5 wins. Bowlers of Mass Destruction drops 1 spot in the standings to close out in 2nd place, while D-Day moves 1 spot to wind up in 1st.

On lanes 19 & 20: Top Guns entered a showdown to the death with When Push Comes To Shove. While headlined by Pat Searcy with his 542 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. As for the opposition, David Codding showed off in the Shovers with his 539 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns drop 1 spot in the standings to end the season in 4th place, while the Shovers move 1 spot to go home with 3rd.

On lanes 21 & 22: Canned Crabs deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of The Good Sons. Regardless of the star power of Eric Lynch with his below-average 441 series, the Crabs accomplished only 1 win against the Sons. On the other half of the score sheet, Michelle Tollefson drew the spotlight in the Sons with her above-average 392 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Canned Crabs plummet 2 spots in the standings to end in 7th place, while the Sons move 1 spot to come out in 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Hulk Smash! had some one-on-one time with Spanked. In spite of the prowess of Carl Goetz with his below-average 509 series, the Hulk got swept by Spanked. Across the ball return, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Bill Krejci commanded Spanked with his above-average 541 as they swept the competition. Hulk Smash! drops 1 spot in the standings to complete in 8th place, while Spanked jumps 2 spots to cross the finish line in 6th.

After a hard fought season, the Tournament of Champions was won tonight by Marca Robinson (Division 4), with Jim Jones (Division 2) landing in second place. Marca will pocket the nice first-place pot, while Jim will take away the second-place pot. Congratulations!
