Fall 2003 Week 4 Robo-RecapA stagnated fourth week of Fall 2003 resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (196) and series (504) for the women. As for the men, David Codding snagged this week's high game with a 212, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 591. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Bowlers of Mass Confusion did battle with Theee Beeelt. Featuring Justin Strelow with his above-average 474 series, Mass Confusion split the series with Theee Beeelt. Meanwhile, Most Valuable Bowler Aaron Weidner mastered Theee Beeelt with his outstanding 531 as they matched their opponent in wins. Bowlers of Mass Confusion remains in 6th place, while Theee Beeelt remains in 5th.

week4On lanes 19 & 20: Atomic Goo matched wits with Gutter Minds. Though reinforced by Steve Robinson with his 453 series, Atomic Goo accomplished only 1 win against Gutter Minds. While that was going down, Bob Brunker ruled Gutter Minds with his above-average 554 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Atomic Goo remains in 8th place, while Gutter Minds remain in 4th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Anchors Aweigh! couldn't stop inappropriately groping Spare Change. Showcasing #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his above-average 591 series, the Anchors split the series with Spare Change. On the flipside, Demond Robinson oversaw Spare Change with his 503 as they matched their opponent in wins. Anchors Aweigh! remains in 1st place, while Spare Change remains in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Bowl me Ishmael! kept grabbing the balls of Wolverines. In spite of top-billing by Dennis Pruitt with his 398 series, Ishmael accomplished only 1 win against the Wolverines. Simultaneously, #1 Power-Ranked Dennis Laube reigned supreme in the Wolverines with his exceptional 529 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowl me Ishmael! remains in 7th place, while the Wolverines remain in 2nd.

Bowlers ducking past the bouncer at The 200 Club include: Aaron Weidner (200), Carl Goetz (202,203), David Codding (212,204), Dennis Laube (209), Jason Carpio (201), and Jeff Geheb (200)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Aaron Weidner (200, previous best 189). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Aaron Weidner (531, previous best 500).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz routed Division 1, while Aaron Weidner eradicated Division 2. Scott Murdock walloped Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Marca Robinson came closest). In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz dominates Division 1; Aaron Weidner governs Division 2; Scott Murdock calls the shots for Division 3; and Marca Robinson tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 8th-place Atomic Goo (hcp 136) will chill with 1st-place Anchors Aweigh!. Atomic Goo is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Anchors are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 2nd-place Wolverines (hcp 4) will throw some gutter balls with 5th-place Theee Beeelt. The Wolverines might perform well and win the series; while Theee Beeelt ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion will meet with 7th-place Bowl me Ishmael! (estimated hcp 88). Mass Confusion will likely roll decently and sweep the series; while Ishmael will probably raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Spare Change (hcp 17) will chuck some balls with 4th-place Gutter Minds. Spare Change is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Gutter Minds are anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
