Fall 2005 Week 6 Robo-RecapThe sixth week of Fall 2005 saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Amanda Cox Jeter and Amy Logan both tied for this week's high game for the women with a 149, and women's high series was bagged by Janelle (Laube) Lamar with a 416. As for the men, David Codding earned this week's high game (237) and series (639). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Three Men and a Babe accepted a challenge by Tatonka. While headlined by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head David Codding and his above-average 639 series, Three Men and a Babe accomplished only 1 win against Tatonka. Across the ball return, Andy McLeod shined in Tatonka with his above-average 369 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Three Men and a Babe plummets 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Tatonka remains in 1st.

week6On lanes 23 & 24: Harry Potter and the Magic Balls kept stealing sips of beer from The Big LeBowlskies. Though reinforced by Andy Metzler with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 396 series, Harry Potter got swept by The Big LeBowlskies. On the adjacent lane, Michael Basham dominated The Big LeBowlskies with his 484 as they swept the competition. Harry Potter and the Magic Balls remains in 7th place, while The Big LeBowlskies jump 3 spots to 3rd.

On lanes 25 & 26: Bora Bora! did battle with Same Belt, New Notch. Regardless of the star power of Phil Schroeder with his below-average 412 series, Bora Bora! accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. On the other side, Carl Goetz showed off in the Belt with his 539 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bora Bora! drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Belt remains in 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Derka, Derka alternated splits with Munson'd. With the strength of Rich DeYoung with his 557 series, Derka, Derka collected 2.5 wins against Munson'd. In the midst of this, Mark Belles guided Munson'd with his above-average 419 despite his team losing the matchup with only 1.5 victories. Derka, Derka remains in 4th place, while Munson'd remains in 8th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (211) and David Codding (201,201,237)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: David Codding crushed Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 2 as it was a complete embarassment. Mark Belles got the better of Division 3, and Andrea DeLong shut down Division 4. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson tops Division 1; Seth Gunderson leads Division 2; Phil Schroeder is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Andrea DeLong holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Bora Bora! will throw some gutter balls with 8th-place Munson'd (hcp 16). Bora Bora! is expected to perform well, but split the series with Munson'd; while Munson'd is forecast to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
  • Moving to lanes 23&24, 4th-place Derka, Derka (hcp 39) will test their mettle against 2nd-place Same Belt, New Notch. Derka, Derka might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Harry Potter and the Magic Balls (hcp 88) will hang out with 5th-place Three Men and a Babe. Harry Potter will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Three Men and a Babe will probably drop their average a bit even as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 1st-place Tatonka (hcp 76) will tussle with 3rd-place The Big LeBowlskies. Tatonka is predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while The Big LeBowlskies are anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
