The fifth week of Spring 2006 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Tracy Rychlewski landed this week's high game for the women with a 155, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 439. As for the men, Tim Segraves snagged this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 637. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Sweeter Than Yoohoo sparred with Bowl Movement. Topped by Tim Segraves with his remarkable 601 series, Yoohoo collected 3 wins against Bowl Movement. On the flipside, #1 Head-to-Head David Codding called the shots for Bowl Movement with his staggering 637 despite his team notching only a single win. Sweeter Than Yoohoo leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Bowl Movement plunges 2 spots to 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Split Happens kept grabbing the balls of Guttersluts. Blessed by Ryan Doll with his splendid 510 series, Split Happens collected 3 wins against Guttersluts. On the other half of the score sheet, Travis Kleiner commanded Guttersluts with his above-average 403 despite his team notching only a single win. Split Happens leap 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Guttersluts remain in 8th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Tatonka shared a platter of cheese sticks with Bora Bora. Led by #1 Power-Ranked Andy McLeod and his dazzling 537 series, Tatonka split the series with Bora Bora. Conversely, Dennis Laube ruled Bora Bora with his 514 as they matched their opponent in wins. Tatonka remains in 7th place, while Bora Bora remains in 5th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! entered a showdown to the death with Yo Mama. In spite of the prowess of Pat Searcy with his above-average 567 series, the Belt accomplished only 1 win against Yo Mama. Simultaneously, Andy Metzler drew the spotlight in Yo Mama with his 521 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Jason Caton) as his team took the series with 3 wins. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! remains in 1st place, while Yo Mama remains in 6th.
Bowlers slipping into The 200 Club include: Andy McLeod (212), Carl Goetz (210), David Codding (212,232), Ken M. Wilson (202), Michael Basham (218), Pat Searcy (231), Ryan Doll (225), Seth Gunderson (215), Steve Kiernan (201), and Tim Segraves (246)

The 246 rolled by Tim Segraves is tied for the 10th-best game in league history!
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Michael Basham had his way with Division 1, while David Codding made quick work of Division 2. Tim Segraves got the better of Division 3, and Andrea Wilson ruled Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Jason Carpio (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Michael Basham reigns over Division 1; David Codding governs Division 2; Tim Segraves runs the show in Division 3; and Ryan Doll and Andrea Wilson are both in the driver's seat (on each other's laps?) in Division 4 in a tie.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Yo Mama will spend some quality time with 7th-place Tatonka (hcp 1). Yo Mama is expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Tatonka is forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 23&24, 5th-place Bora Bora (hcp 84) will challenge 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka!. Bora Bora might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt ought to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 25&26, 3rd-place Split Happens (hcp 188) will match wits with 4th-place Bowl Movement. Split Happens will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bowl Movement will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 8th-place Guttersluts (hcp 237) will compete against 2nd-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo. Guttersluts are predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Yoohoo is anticipated to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
