The Spring 2006 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (173) and series (501) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 226, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 620. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Bowl Movement couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Yo Mama. With top billing by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his 620 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yo Mama. Conversely, Andy Metzler ruled Yo Mama with his 471 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement leaves the gate in 2nd place, while Yo Mama starts off with 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka shared a platter of cheese sticks with Split Happens. While headlined by Andy McLeod with his powerful 461 series, Tatonka accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. In the meantime, James Long called the shots for Split Happens with his 519 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Amy Logan) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Tatonka begins the season in 7th place, while Split Happens get going with 3rd.

On lanes 25 & 26: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Guttersluts. Featuring Pat Searcy with his 524 series, the Belt celebrated a clean sweep over Guttersluts. Countering this, Erin deVries took the lead in Guttersluts with her 301 despite her team getting swept. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! begins with 1st place, while Guttersluts begin in 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Sweeter Than Yoohoo entered a showdown to the death with Bora Bora. Showcasing Thomas Lin with his 518 series, Yoohoo split the series with Bora Bora. On the other side, Dennis Laube guided Bora Bora with his 588 as they matched their opponent in wins. Sweeter Than Yoohoo gets underway in 5th place, while Bora Bora gets rolling in 4th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (205,203,212), Dennis Laube (206), Ken M. Wilson (226,201), Nick Allegri (225), and Steve Kiernan (211,224)

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 21&22, 8th-place Guttersluts (estimated hcp 272) will spend some quality time with 4th-place Bora Bora. Guttersluts are expected to stunning and win the series; while Bora Bora is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
• Moving to lanes 23&24, 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! will throw some gutter balls with 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo (estimated hcp 71). The Belt might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Yoohoo; while Yoohoo ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
• Then, over on lanes 25&26, 6th-place Yo Mama (estimated hcp 101) will roll against 3rd-place Split Happens. Yo Mama will likely powerful and sweep the series; while Split Happens will probably raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
• Finally, on lanes 27&28, 2nd-place Bowl Movement will share a couple of pitchers with 7th-place Tatonka (estimated estimated hcp 328).
