Spring 2008 Week 1 Robo-RecapThe Spring 2008 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (222) and series (505) for the women, while Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (277) and series (616) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Ebowla celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Sofa King Good. While headlined by Chris Lewis with his 443 series, Ebowla accomplished only 1 win against Sofa King. On the other side, Don Glasscock ruled Sofa King with his 604 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Ebowla leaves the gate in 8th place, while Sofa King begins in 2nd.

week1On lanes 21 & 22: You Don't Know Sh!t had a delightful time with Dios Mios. Demonstrating the prowess of Duncan Ferber with his 616 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler , Don't Know Sh!t collected 3 wins against Dios Mios. While that was going down, #1 Power-Ranked Bill Krejci commanded Dios Mios with his 605 despite his team notching only a single win. You Don't Know Sh!t gets underway in 1st place, while Dios Mios commence the season with 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: It's Britney, Bitch tussled with 3 Dudes and a Doll. Despite being led by Dave Winger with his 454 series, Britney accomplished only 1 win against 3 Dudes and a Doll. On the other half of the score sheet, Ryan Doll mastered 3 Dudes and a Doll with his 576 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler John Richardson) as his team took the series with 3 wins. It's Britney, Bitch begins with 10th place, while 3 Dudes and a Doll gets rolling in 4th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Split Happens chucked gutter balls with Bad Newz Kennels. Although topped by Ryan Schooley with his 450 series, Split Happens accomplished only 1 win against the Kennels. On the adjacent lane, Freda Schroeder called the shots for the Kennels with her 505 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Split Happens begins the season in 7th place, while the Kennels get going with 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Dr. Strangelanes, Or How I Learned To Stop Opening And Earn The Belt had a rendezvous with ?. Reinforced by Nik Domann with his 493 series, Dr. Strangelanes collected 3 wins against ?. In the meantime, John Coleman guided ? with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 462 despite his team notching only a single win. Dr. Strangelanes, Or How I Learned To Stop Opening And Earn The Belt 5th place, while ? 9th.

New personal high games were set tonight by Freda Schroeder (222, previous best 215) and Duncan Ferber (277, previous best 263). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Kendall Kukowski (601, previous best 534) and John Keck (429, previous best 382).

The 222 rolled by Freda Schroeder is tied for the 8th-best women's game in league history!
The 277 rolled by Duncan Ferber is tied for the 3rd-best game in league history!
