The fourth week of Fall 2008 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (185) and series (496) for the women, while Cory Chorpenning earned this week's high game (243) and series (581) for the men. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Dave and the Wingers shared a platter of cheese sticks with Bad Newz Kennels. Notwithstanding the leadership of Rob Kaszuba with his 417 series, the Wingers accomplished only 1 win against the Kennels. While that was going down, Freda Schroeder drew the spotlight in the Kennels with her above-average 496 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Dave and the Wingers remains in 8th place, while the Kennels jump 2 spots to 4th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Livin' On A Spare faced off against Chico's Bail Bonds. Regardless of the star power of Tom Finley with his above-average 398 series, Livin' On A Spare accomplished only 1 win against Chico's. Across the ball return, Carl Goetz reigned supreme in Chico's with his miraculous 566 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Livin' On A Spare remains in 9th place, while Chico's move 1 spot to 2nd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty entered a showdown to the death with Is This Billable?. In spite of top-billing by Andrea Caudillo with her below-average 369 series, Spare The Rod got swept by Is This Billable?. On the flipside, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Adam Messner laid down the law in Is This Billable? with his stupendous 488 as they swept the competition. Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty plummets 3 spots in the standings to 10th place, while Is This Billable? jumps 4 spots to 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: WWJB chucked gutter balls with Dios Mios. Though reinforced by AJ Taylor with his above-average 395 series, WWJB got swept by Dios Mios. Countering this, Bill Krejci shined in Dios Mios with his 522 as they swept the competition. WWJB plummets 3 spots in the standings to 7th place, while Dios Mios remain in 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Bowl Movement celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Ain't No Sh!t. With the strength of Travis Kleiner with his splendid 493 series, Bowl Movement split the series with Ain't No Sh!t. Meanwhile, Cory Chorpenning oversaw Ain't No Sh!t with his 581 as they matched their opponent in wins. Bowl Movement remains in 5th place, while Ain't No Sh!t sinks 1 spot to 3rd.
Bowlers enjoying a guest admission to The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (201), Cory Chorpenning (243), Duncan Ferber (211), Kendall Kukowski (219), and Ryan Doll (206)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz made quick work of Division 1, while David Parre mopped up Division 2. Carter Collins staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 3, and Adam Messner trounced Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz governs Division 1; David Parre holds the reins in Division 2; Carter Collins reigns over Division 3; and Adam Messner is in the driver's seat in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Bowl Movement (hcp 59) will challenge 6th-place Is This Billable?. Bowl Movement is expected to perform well, but split the series with Is This Billable?; while Is This Billable? is forecast to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 1st-place Dios Mios (hcp 132) will throw some gutter balls with 3rd-place Ain't No Sh!t. Dios Mios might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Ain't No Sh!t ought to see their team average take a dive while they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 7th-place WWJB (hcp 129) will compete against 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds. WWJB will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Chico's will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 10th-place Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty (hcp 56) will spend some quality time with 4th-place Bad Newz Kennels. Spare The Rod might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Kennels ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Livin' On A Spare (hcp 17) will battle 8th-place Dave and the Wingers. Livin' On A Spare is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Wingers are anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
