By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2009 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (184) and series (513) for the women, while Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (215) and series (598) for the men. First up, on lanes 19 & 20: WWJB had a delightful time with XXX. Blessed by AJ Taylor with his 392 series, WWJB celebrated a clean sweep over XXX. . With XXX forfeiting, all WWJB needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. WWJB leaps 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while XXX remains in 10th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sh!t, Another Season kept grabbing the balls of Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. With top billing by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Duncan Ferber and his above-average 598 series, Another Season collected 3 wins against Schlitz. Across the ball return, Angela Bradford guided Schlitz with her above-average 513 despite her team notching only a single win. Sh!t, Another Season leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Schlitz plunges 2 spots to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends entered a showdown to the death with Chicks With Balls. Reinforced by Drew Eldridge with his 384 series, Wonder Friends split the series with the Chicks. As for the opposition, Janelle (Laube) Lamar shined in the Chicks with her 398 as they matched their opponent in wins. Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends drop 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while the Chicks remain in 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: No Pinheads accepted a challenge by Rule 6B. While headlined by Dennis Laube with his 479 series, No Pinheads accomplished only 1 win against Rule 6B. Conversely, Brett Schroeder called the shots for Rule 6B with his 443 as his team took the series with 3 wins. No Pinheads drop 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Rule 6B jumps 2 spots to 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Chico's Bail Bonds matched wits with Turkey Sandwich. Highlighting the skills of Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 550 series, Chico's split the series with Turkey Sandwich. In the meantime, Jason Carpio commanded Turkey Sandwich with his 526 as they matched their opponent in wins. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while Turkey Sandwich remains in 7th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by AJ Taylor (162, previous best 161).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz walloped Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Angela Bradford came closest). Janelle (Laube) Lamar vanquished Division 3, and Deena Slinkard creamed Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Duncan Ferber (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz reigns over Division 1; Angela Bradford is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Chris Lewis holds the reins in Division 3; and Deena Slinkard calls the shots for Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place Rule 6B (hcp 86) will face 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds. Rule 6B is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Chico's are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You (hcp 62) will socialize with 4th-place Sh!t, Another Season. Schlitz might perform well and win the series; while Another Season ought to drop their average a bit while avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place No Pinheads will challenge 6th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 112). No Pinheads will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Chicks will probably raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Turkey Sandwich will hang out with 8th-place WWJB (hcp 63). Turkey Sandwich might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while WWJB ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 4) will compete against 10th-place XXX. Wonder Friends are predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while XXX is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
