Last week several bowlers were absent due to either travel or being the odd man out on a team of 5, but after this week everyone has finally set an average. So barring any new random subs, next week everyone will know their game results live.
This week we saw one bowler set a new personal best series, albeit with a bit of an asterisk as will be explained in a bit. JoAnne Barber miraculously picked up this week's high game (129) and series (338) for the women. As for the men, Seth Gunderson snagged this week's high game with a 209, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 579. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 1 & 2: Vigs Eras Tour 2023 battled it out with the now-named DB Lenz a Hand. "Emboldened" by Seth Gunderson with his below-average 527 series, The Vigs Tour crew split the series with DB Handlers. (I don't remember the real name of substitute Vigliaturo, but they entered it as Buck Nasty in the iPad so Buck Nasty he shall be.) In the midst of this, Doug Lenz with his 437 series shone in DB Handlers as they matched their opponent in wins. Vigs Eras Tour 2023 remains in 1st place, while DB Handlers remain in 5th.
On lanes 3 & 4: While the were scales heavily tipped in one team's favor from the outset, the result saw them tip in the opposite direction. Balderdash found their destiny gripped in the unexpectedly icy hands flippers of the Sun Dolphins. While headlined by Matthew Taylor with his above-average 579 series, Bald Boys accomplished only 1 win against Dolphins. On the flip(per)side, trifecta-winner (Most Valuable Bowler, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head) Scott Thompson and his outstanding 471 series propped up Dolphins as his team took the match with 3 wins. Balderdash remains in 2nd place, while Dolphins, despite an impressive showing, remain trapped in the endless tuna net known as last place thanks to the technicality of Total Pins.
Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: Despite multiple loose, stranded balls and three members (Scoot, AJ, Kurt) all struggling to get it up (as in, stuck balls back up the ball return ramp), √-1 managed enough stamina to penetrate the Glory Bowl defenses. Showcasing Nathan Burrows with his 484 series*, Imaginary Number collected 3 wins against the G-Holers. Simultaneously, Kent Harms with his better-than-normal 507 series took the lead among the G-Holers despite his team notching only a single win. √-1 climbs 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while the G-Holers sink 1 spot to 4th.
Bowlers slipping into The 200 Club include: Kent Harms (206), Matthew Taylor (205), Ryan Sisco (206), and Seth Gunderson (209)
A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Nathan Burrows (484, previous best 470), *though it comes with a bit of an asterisk because he had to leave in the 4th frame of the first game so his game 1 score is actually his average.
JoAnne Barber earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 129 and 338, respectively. In addition, Matthew Taylor bagged the season's men's high series with his 579.

NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 1&2, 4th-place Glory Bowl (hcp 132) will meet with 2nd-place Balderdash. The G-Holers are expected to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Bald Boys are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 3&4, 3rd-place √-1 (hcp 85) will share a couple of pitchers with 1st-place Vigs Eras Tour 2023. Imaginary Number might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while The Vigs Tour crew ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 5&6, 6th-place Sun Dolphins (hcp 32) will match wits with 5th-place DB Lenz a Hand. Dolphins are predicted to roll decently and win the series; while DB Handlers are anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
