Bowling enthusiasts, listen up! The tenth week of Spring 2023 brought with it thrilling highs and gut-wrenching lows as the teams battled it out on the lanes. One team was on the rise, while another stumbled, their fate hanging in the balance.
But amidst the tension, there were shining moments of individual brilliance. JoAnne Barber stepped up to claim this week's high game and series for the women, with an impressive 139 and 392 respectively. And for the men, it was Nick Kinney who shone, snatching the high game of the week with a blistering 246. But that's not all - the coveted high series honor was shared by Ben Spencer and Nick Kinney, who tied with a jaw-dropping 596!
But as always, the devil is in the details. Who was the team that climbed the standings, and who was the unlucky one that slipped? Which players went above and beyond to secure victories for their teams, and who faltered at the crucial moment? Stay tuned, fellow bowlers - the next chapter in this epic saga is just waiting to unfold!
Ladies and gentlemen, gather round and let me tell you the tale of the epic battle that took place on lanes 1 & 2. The Sun Dolphins, with their slick non-matching shirts and confident swagger, took on the fierce and formidable Glory Bowl. As the pins were set and the first ball rolled, the tension in the air was palpable. Ryan Sisco of the Sun Dolphins showed off his impressive skills with an above-average 441 series, but alas, it was not enough to vanquish the mighty Glory Bowl. Kent Harms, with his 537 series, led his team to three decisive victories, leaving the Sun Dolphins in the dust with only one win to their name. Despite their valiant efforts, the Sun Dolphins remain in 6th place, while the Glory Bowl holds tight to their spot in 3rd. But don't count the Sun Dolphins out just yet – with their undeniable talent and unwavering determination, they're sure to come back even stronger in the battles yet to come.
Behold the epic showdown that took place on lanes 3 and 4! The air was electric as Balderdash and Just Shitty Enough faced off with nothing but the narrowest of handicaps between them. To fuel their competitive spirits, the teams even shared a platter of mouth-watering cheese sticks! As the first ball was rolled, the players were on fire, determined to claim victory at any cost. #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head of Balderdash lit up the lanes with his incredible 596 series, inspiring his team to three hard-earned wins. But don't count out Nick Kinney and his 596 series for Just Shitty Enough - despite his team only notching a single win, he gave it his all and motivated his team to the very end. With the dust settled, Balderdash remains in 5th place, but don't let that fool you - they're a force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile, Just Shitty Enough may have suffered three losses, but they're still on top, moving up one spot to claim the coveted first place. This was a match for the ages, and one that will be remembered by bowlers and fans alike for years to come!
Get ready for a tale of heartbreak and triumph on lanes 5 and 6! Let's Split Up Gang! and I Thought This Was AA? faced off in a match that was a rollercoaster of emotions - sometimes delightful, sometimes a bit gropey, but always intense. Despite the valiant efforts of James Tott and his below-average 421 series, Let's Split Up found themselves swept away by AA. But don't think it was an easy victory for the latter - it was the incredible skill of Scott Murdock, with his better-than-normal 469 series and the support of Most Valuable Bowler Jim Koger, that called the shots for the team and led them to an awe-inspiring sweep of the competition. The Let's Split Up Gang may have dropped one spot in the standings to second place, but they fought hard and never gave up. As for I Thought This Was AA?, they remain in fourth place, but with a performance like that, it's clear they have what it takes to climb to the top. This was a match that had it all - drama, intensity, molestation, and incredible skill. It's what bowling dreams are made of!
Bowlers who crashed the party at The 200 Club include: Ben Spencer (201,201), Dennis Walling (210), Kent Harms (208), Matthew Taylor (200), and Nick Kinney (246)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Dennis Walling crushed Division 1, while Michael Gordon had his way with Division 2. Scott Murdock cleaned up Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Ryan Sisco came closest). In terms of overall points: Matthew Taylor, John Boren, and Carl Goetz lead Division 1 in a tie; Brett Affolter governs Division 2; Scott Murdock runs the show in Division 3; and Ryan Sisco reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 1&2, 2nd-place Let's Split Up Gang! (hcp 89) will roll against 5th-place Balderdash. The splitter-uppers are expected to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Bald Boys are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 3&4, 4th-place I Thought This Was AA? (hcp 27) will chill with 3rd-place Glory Bowl. The bowlaholics might roll a little low and get swept; while the G-Holers ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 5&6, 6th-place Sun Dolphins (hcp 157) will chuck some balls with 1st-place Just Shitty Enough. Dolphins are predicted to roll decently and win the series; while Just Shitty is anticipated to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
