The Spring 2022 season has drawn to a close, with ChuckaScoot holding on to their lead to officially earn this season's championship! One bowler set a new personal best series. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (141) and series (400) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (228) and series (557) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
Upending three thousand years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax, this season we reversed the lane order for final position round. On lanes 1 & 2: The bottom of the pack rivals gathered as Splits & Giggles taunted The Wally McWallingtons with dead wood left and right. Starring Luke Melton with his above-average 438 series, Giggles split the series with The McWallingtons. Meanwhile Most Valuable Bowler AJ Hofmann and his better-than-normal 532 series commanded The McWallingtons as they matched their opponent in wins. Splits & Giggles finish in 6th place, while The McWallingtons go home with 5th.
On lanes 3 & 4: Flamboyant Fluffykins traded multiple lane 4 malfunctions with Going, Going, BALD!. With extra motivation generated by Dustin Schmeltz with his 485 series, with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Nathan Burrows, Flamboyant collected 3 wins against Baldness. As for the opposition, Dennis Walling with his slightly-off 499 series dominated Baldness despite his team notching only a single win. Flamboyant Fluffykins finalize their efforts in 4th place, while Baldness cros the finish line in 3rd.
With the odds stacked against Glory Bowl winning the championship, their primary goal was instead to remain on second place. against ChuckaScoot. Though somewhat emboldened by Kent Harms with his 483 series, Glory accomplished only 1 win against Scoot Chuckers. But with with the surprise outcome on lanes 3 & 4, that was all they needed! On the other wise of the equation, Carl Goetz with his 557 series reigned supreme within Scoot Chuckers (with props to #1 Head-to-Head Aaron Barber) as his team took the match with 3 wins. Glory Bowl ends happily in 2nd place, while Scoot Chuckers settle for 1st. Since ChuckaScoot was unavailable for a championship photo, they have to settle for their faces pasted onto bowling pins lined up on a fence in my back yard.
Bowlers who stumbled into The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (228). Yes, seriously, just Carl.
A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Nathan Burrows (460, previous best 455).
After a hard fought season, the Tournament of Champions was won tonight by Collin Lavery (Division 4), with Brandon Martinez (Division 4) landing in second place. Collin will pocket the nice first-place pot, while Brandon will take away the second-place pot. Congratulations!

Wait, we’re NOT meeting at Finnegans this week?
Anyone who wants to meet at Finnegan’s is welcome to try, though doing so waives all liability against me. If you do, take pictures!
