From Everyone Here, to Barely a Soul Left

Posted by ScooterJ April 12, 2016 Spring 2016, Week 11 View Score Sheets

Tonight's bowling session included some pretty aggravating lane malfunctions, two demonic series (666), and the first 200+ game by a member of Split Sisters. It was also the first time, all season, that all 32 of our bowlers were all present at the same time.First up, on lanes 41 & 42: Bowlgasmic had been predicted to take this series and finally put some pressure on the league leaders. But Fallop Ian just does not seem to be stoppable. This week it was John Boren who, with a 629 series, led the Tubes to 3 wins. Meanwhile, it was the usual Kody Karnes who snared one win for Bowlgasmic with his 682 series. Fallop Ian remains in 1st place, while Bowlgasmic remains in 6th.

On lanes 43 & 44: Birthday boy Aaron Barber of Bowies In Space found himself on the winning side of his encounter with a Glory Bowl. With a 600-even series, Bowie got a clean sweep. Andrew Finger also had his way with the Glory Bowl with his 511 series, but it was not enough to penetrate Aaron's defenses and thrust his team to any wins.

On the increasingly malfunctioning lanes 45 & 46: 404: Team Name Not Found had been predicted to get a clean sweep of their own over Split Sisters. But no ScooterMath™ based algorithm could have predicted Michelle Shoemaker rolling a 209 (89 over average) in game 1 -- the first 200+ for the Sisters. Michelle's 479 topped the Sisters and was more than enough to get them one win. Meanwhile Sean Simmons essentially repeated last week and won the trifecta again (as well as 3 games for 404) with his series. Team Name Not Found climbs 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Split Sisters remains in 8th.

Zach Cross nearly got the gutter quote with this bizarre philosophical musing after bowling ended,

It should be noted that having a lane with a broken reset button that also has only one sensor working is not any fun at all. Hopefully they get that fixed before next week!

Finally, down on lanes 47 & 48: Still reeling from last week's (well, Monday night's) surprise losses, Split It & Hit It found themselves struggling against Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Aubrey Moren's 593 series led the Sandbaggers to 3 wins. While Dennis Blake's 548 series topped Split It, it was Mark DeVoe who had enough of the Sandbaggers and rolled a new personal best series (477) to claim a single win at the end of the night. Split It & Hit It remains in 7th place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 2nd.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Michael Gordon won this week's Division 1 bracket to move into 2nd place. Aubrey Moren leapfrogged into the top spot in Division 2. Sean Simmons continues to absolutely destroy Division 3. And in what is definitely not a surprise, Michelle Shoemaker won division 4 this week (though Leslie Patton still has a commanding lead.)This week The 200 Club is brought to you by the letter B, the number 2, and the bowlers Aaron Barber (229,235), Aubrey Moren (213,211), Bob Brunker (233), Carl Goetz (258), Dennis Blake (212), Dennis Laube (229), John Boren (241), Jonathan Vigliaturo (226), Kody Karnes (239,206,237), Michael Gordon (214), Michelle Shoemaker (209), Sean Simmons (207,213), and Seth Gunderson (224,213)See you next Tuesday!

  FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"Then there's cancer survivors..." - Zach

"...And that's what really irritates me." - Scoot

Zach, then Scoot... who didn't hear the word "survivors" at the end of Zach's statement and so came off sounding like an insensitive ass.

Uhh, Sean didn’t win the trifecta “again.” ScooterMath (TM) is horrible.
