The last night of bowling before a two-week pause saw some shifts in the standings that could lead to some unexpected matchups for the position round. On lanes 41 & 42: Hold My Beer, Watch This thought that since they were bowling the last place team, they'd continue their rise towards first place. Unfortunately for them no one warned them that It's A Trap! Despite a 632 series from Kody Karnes, the rest of the team stumbled and bumbled about in their Blue Moon drunkenness and forgot they were supposed to actually bowling. This made it easy for Andrew Finger to cast a net with his 603 series and snare 3 wins, enough to lead his team out of last place. Hold My Beer drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while It's A Trap! moves up to 6th.
On lanes 43 & 44: Ray & Stevie faced off against 404: Team Name Not Found. Led by Mr. Magoo and his 480 series, Ray & Stevie prevented Not Found from getting the clean sweep they were expecting. Luckily Sean Simmons turned things around with his 494 series, with support from a second MVB performance by Zach Cross. Team Name Not Found won the remaining games and climbs 1 spot to 4th place.
Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! has been struggling to hit their stride this season, but when Aubrey Moren rolled a 258 in game 2 it seemed their fortunes might have changed. But then Aubrey managed to crack the top ten in the largest swings between games in league history. Leading his team with a 581 series, Aubrey was unable to lead his team to any wins. On the other side of the coin, Ian Goetz took the reins of his mostly well-over-average team with a 639 series to score a clean sweep. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Salt Water Taffy continues to chew on 1st.Finally, down on lanes 47 & 48: Stephen Hawking's Dance Club boogied the night away with Split It & Hit It, and in the end both teams wound up just as they started. A split series, and no movement in the standings. Michael Gordon led the Dance Club with a 580 series, while Dennis Blake and his 561 series topped Split It. Stephen Hawking's Dance Club remains in 2nd place, and Split It & Hit It remains in 3rd.
We do not bowl on October 6th. Bowling is what we do not do that day. Of all things to do on October 6, bowling not one. Learn this well, young Gunderson. This week in Tournament of Champions, Ian Goetz pulled back into the lead of Division 1. Dennis Blake continues tearing it up in Division 2, the rest of that division might as well just stay home at this point. Division 3 had no winner this week and is still anybody's game. Division 4 also had no real winner, however Dennis Cummings is creeping up on Michael Smith.Bowlers who won't be joining The 200 Club on October 6 include: Andrew Finger (208,244), Aubrey Moren (258), Carl Goetz (225,224), Ian Goetz (217,232), Jonathan Vigliaturo (205), Kody Karnes (226,214), Michael Gordon (220), Phil Schroeder (206), and Seth Gunderson (217,219)See you in two Tuesdays!
