With a good portion of the league drunk / hungover from today's Irish festivities, the rest of us enjoyed a fairly quick bowling session tonight. And in each of the matchups, the luck o' the Irish seemed to be concentrated in just one of the teams.First up, on lanes 41 & 42: Gimme Headpin faced off against The Pin is Mightier. With only a 2-man team present, it was Brian Coe's time to shine. His 681 series earned him MVB, #1 Power Ranked Bowler, and a clean sweep for his team. Meanwhile the PinIs Mightier enjoyed some DP (doubled performance) by Scott Murdock & Dan Imperial, who both led their team with a 460 series. The PinIs came up short, unfortunately. Gimme Headpin remains in 2nd place, while The Pin is Mightier drops 1 spot to 7th.

On lanes 43 & 44: Split It & Hit It tried to net some victories against Squirtin' Tunas. While Michael Smith Fred Flintstoned his ball into low Earth orbit repeatedly, Todd Way hit it big with a 520 series, and the night's second clean sweep. Aaron Barber did the best he could to fish for some wins with his 544 series, but they all got away. Split It & Hit It climbs 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while Squirtin' Tunas remains in 4th. "The Tunas sure aren't squirtin' tonight," quipped AJ.

On lanes 45 & 46, half of Ballz Out faced off against half of Amazeballs. Alison Radke and her 347 series led the present half of the Ballz, but ended up swept as Angela Bradford and her 573 series led the Balls. Amazeballs secured a clean sweep. Ballz Out remains in 8th place, while Amazeballs remains in 1st. Interesting that it's the lone woman on each of these teams who has control of all the ballz/s.

Finally, down on lanes 47 & 48 in the only matchup with everyone present, Sponsored By Rogue did battle against 10 Pins 10 Balls. Led by Carl Goetz and his 629 series, Sponsored By Rogue secured 3 wins against 10 Pins 10 Balls. Tired of the nonsense, Aubrey Moren rolled a league-high 256 in game 3 to achieve a 616 series and secure one win. Sponsored By Rogue remains in 3rd place, while 10 Pins 10 Balls remains in 5th.

Three housekeeping items...

Do these belong to your feet? If so, see Scoot next week.

  1. Did you lose a jacket last week? If so, please see Chelsea.
  2. Did you forget a pair of shoes this week? If so, please see Scoot. (Alison, we are suspecting these belong to your feet.)
  3. Since Ken is out for the rest of the season, please make sure you notify Scoot (scott@syphon.com) if your team intends to pre-bowl or post-bowl.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Brian Coe led Division 1 but was just shy of being able to upset the division leaders. Todd Way won Division 2 but couldn't touch that division's leaders either. Freda Schroeder won Division 3 to leapfrog to 1st place. Finally, Michael Smith won Division 4 but still has some work ahead of him to unseat the leaders.Bowlers finding a pot o' gold in The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (226), Angela Bradford (205), Aubrey Moren (256), Brian Coe (246,218,217), Carl Goetz (202,237), Ian Goetz (244), Kody Karnes (237), and Seth Gunderson (247)See you next Tuesday!

"Apparently being gay hurts your game."

Brian Coe, who DID NOT actually say this, but everyone within earshot thought this was what he said, about the performance of the opposing team.
