The second installment of "The 11th Frame" features some established bowlers establishing themselves even moreso across the league's ever-growing collection of Top 25s. As you probably saw in this week's write-up, Andy McLeod and Murder, He Wrote basically owned the night...but there's something else he did as well. Wondering what else happened that you probably didn't know about? Check this out:INDIVIDUALS:
Krejci crosses a threshold
Bill Krejci |
Tuesday night saw Bill Krejci bowl his 100th 200+ game in the league with his 207 in Game #2. He followed it up immediately with his 101st the very next game. Adding a few more games in that range under his belt, Krejci can move up higher on the Top 25 Bowlers with the Most 200+ Games from his current 8th place spot. Cory Chorpenning, who currently sits on the list just ahead of Bill by three games, will surely have something to say about that. |
AB, Bill, and Aubrey add to their career total pins at Hall of Famers expense
Angela Bradford |
Three bowlers moved up higher on the Top 25 Total Pins Knocked Down - Career list. Both Bill Krejci (10th) and Angela Bradford (11th) moved ahead of future Hall of Famer Pat Searcy this week, pushing him down into 12th place. Aubrey Moren (15th) hopped one spot above Hall of Famer Bob Brunker (16th), separated now only by 400+ pins. |
McLeod's MVB ties him with a Hall of Famer
Andy McLeod |
Tuesday was a big night for Andy McLeod. His team is off to a near perfect start, he's currently carrying an average 21 pins higher than his lifetime average and, to top it off, he's moved up several spots to take over 13th place on the Top 25 Most MVBs list. Andy joins last season's Hall of Fame inductee David Codding and Shaun Crockett with having earned 6 MVB nods apiece. |
Wilson inches out Carl...for now
Ken M. Wilson |
When the first report for the Top 25 Bowlers with the Most 600+ Series came out well over a year ago, Ken had a sizable lead over fellow teammate Carl Goetz. Since then, Carl has spanked his ass left and right on the lanes and overtook the lead until Wilson tied it up during the Finals last season. Both shot a 600+ last week but, with his 640 series this week, Ken moves back out on top...but for how long? "Not long," says Carl. "Not long at all." |
TEAMS:
Murderous start |
Now we all know that we've had some pretty impressive league records here over the past few years with two teams actually cresting the 50+ wins mark after the Finals. This got us to thinking about which teams have had the best starts in league history...specifically through Week #2. Lo and behold, Murder, He Wrote is off to the 5th best start in league history amongst teams of four, factoring in record and total pins. We'll be rolling out a formalized version of this Top 25 in the near future. |
Snakes on a Lanes' improved record |
Despite dropping three games to the 8th place team Tuesday night, Snakes on a Lane made some noise when their Game #3 score of 873 became the new 2nd highest team game (4-per) in GutterAlley history as they bested their 868 from last week. |
ODDITIES & STRAIGHT UP NUMBERS:
How common! |
One of the oddest trivia bits we've unearthed through all of our Top 25s creations was finding out that, over the course of our entire history, the score 158 has been rolled more often than any other. Why? Who the hell knows. The biggest culprits of rolling the most common score in league history? Phil Schroeder and Freda Schroeder. You'll never guess what Freda rolled in Game #2...and then what Phil rolled in Game #3. See for yourself. |
