Fall 2009 Week 9 Robo-RecapBy now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2009 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (164) and series (434) for the women. As for the men, Phil Schroeder snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by John Boren with a 577. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Quick Release matched wits with Rollin' J's. In spite of the prowess of Ryan Doll with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 486 series, Quick Release accomplished only 1 win against Rollin' J's. In the meantime, Jerry Krall drew the spotlight in Rollin' J's with his outstanding 458 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Quick Release remains in 3rd place, while Rollin' J's jump 2 spots to 5th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 21 & 22: Sweep The Leg, Johnny faced off against WWJB. Blessed by John Boren with his 577 series, Sweep The Leg celebrated a clean sweep over WWJB. Meanwhile, Rich Foster ruled WWJB with his above-average 458 despite his team getting swept. Sweep The Leg, Johnny remains in 1st place, while WWJB sinks 1 spot to 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: BOWLSH!T had a delightful time with Split Happens. Led by Kelly Sands with his above-average 458 series, BOWLSH!T collected 3 wins against Split Happens. As for the opposition, James Long called the shots for Split Happens with his above-average 520 despite his team notching only a single win. BOWLSH!T leaps 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Split Happens remain in 10th.

On lanes 25 & 26: BILFs chucked gutter balls with Ebowla. With the strength of Scott Murdock with his above-average 510 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Andee Weinfurt, BILFs celebrated a clean sweep over Ebowla. On the flipside, Sarah Sauer showed off in Ebowla with her above-average 386 despite her team getting swept. BILFs remains in 4th place, while Ebowla plunges 2 spots to 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: No Pinheads tussled with Chicks With Balls. Highlighting the skills of #1 Power-Ranked Phil Schroeder and his splendid 555 series, with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Andee Weinfurt, No Pinheads celebrated a clean sweep over the Chicks. In the midst of this, Tiffany Schmidt dominated the Chicks with her phenomenal 367 despite her team getting swept. No Pinheads remains in 2nd place, while the Chicks remain in 9th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: David Codding (205), Derrick Grimpo (200), James Long (202), Jerry Krall (233), John Boren (214), Pat Searcy (214), Phil Schroeder (236), and Scott Murdock (203)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Jerry Krall (233, previous best 198).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Dennis Laube walloped Division 1, while Brett Schroeder conquered Division 2. Andee Weinfurt decimated Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Amanda Duncan came closest). Finally, Ali Fisher (Division 4) creamed this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Brett Schroeder reigns over Division 2; AJ Hofmann holds the reins in Division 3; and Amanda Duncan calls the shots for Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place Sweep The Leg, Johnny will face 2nd-place No Pinheads (hcp 67). Sweep The Leg is expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while No Pinheads are forecast to drop their average a bit while endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Quick Release will chuck some balls with 4th-place BILFs (hcp 76). Quick Release might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while BILFs ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place Rollin' J's will chill with 8th-place Ebowla (hcp 365). Rollin' J's will likely roll decently and sweep the series; while Ebowla will probably see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
  • Next up, on lanes 25&26, 6th-place WWJB (hcp 416) will meet with 7th-place BOWLSH!T. WWJB might have the bottom drop out of their averages as they get swept; while BOWLSH!T ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 45) will test their mettle against 10th-place Split Happens. The Chicks are predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Split Happens are anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
