The Fall 2009 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Julie Benson-Grant picked up this week's high game (188) and series (418) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (257) and series (626) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: BILFs tussled with Sweep The Leg, Johnny. Despite being led by Scott Murdock with his 447 series, BILFs got swept by Sweep The Leg. As for the opposition, Ken M. Wilson drew the spotlight in Sweep The Leg with his stupendous 626 (with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked John Boren) as they swept the competition. BILFs begins with 10th place, while Sweep The Leg begins in 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: No Pinheads alternated splits with Split Happens. Demonstrating the prowess of Dennis Laube with his 509 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler , No Pinheads collected 3 wins against Split Happens. On the other side, James Long laid down the law in Split Happens with his 504 despite his team notching only a single win. No Pinheads begins the season in 2nd place, while Split Happens start off with 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: WWJB celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Chicks With Balls. With the strength of Dave Winger with his 452 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Rich Foster, WWJB collected 3 wins against the Chicks. On the adjacent lane, Janelle (Laube) Lamar reigned supreme in the Chicks with her 386 despite her team notching only a single win. WWJB gets underway in 4th place, while the Chicks commence the season with 9th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Ebowla kept grabbing the balls of Quick Release. Regardless of the star power of Jason Carpio with his 517 series, Ebowla accomplished only 1 win against Quick Release. Meanwhile, Ryan Doll took the lead in Quick Release with his 505 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Ebowla starts out in 7th place, while Quick Release gets going with 3rd.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: BOWLSH!T spent some quality time with Rollin' J's. Although blessed by Kelly Sands with his 432 series, BOWLSH!T accomplished only 1 win against Rollin' J's. Simultaneously, Julie Benson-Grant oversaw Rollin' J's with her 418 as her team took the series with 3 wins. BOWLSH!T 8th place, while Rollin' J's 5th.
