The fourteenth week of Spring 2009 saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (223) and series (595) for the women. As for the men, Jason Carpio snagged this week's high game with a 232, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 655. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chico's Bail Bonds celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Topped by #1 Head-to-Head David Codding and his stunning 655 series, Chico's collected 3 wins against Schlitz. Meanwhile, #1 Power-Ranked Angela Bradford laid down the law in Schlitz with her dramatic 595 despite her team notching only a single win. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while Schlitz remains in 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sh!t, Another Season had a delightful time with XXX. With the strength of Cory Chorpenning with his above-average 598 series, Another Season celebrated a clean sweep over XXX. As for the opposition, Rich DeYoung took the lead in XXX with his above-average 521 despite his team getting swept. Sh!t, Another Season remains in 5th place, while XXX remains in 10th.
On lanes 23 & 24: No Pinheads had a rendezvous with Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends. Headlined by Dennis Laube with his 493 series, No Pinheads collected 3 wins against Wonder Friends. . With Wonder Friends forfeiting, all No Pinheads needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. No Pinheads remains in 4th place, while Wonder Friends sink 1 spot to 9th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Rule 6B alternated between bowling and dry humping Chicks With Balls. Highlighting the skills of Adam Messner with his above-average 460 series, Rule 6B celebrated a clean sweep over the Chicks. Countering this, Janelle (Laube) Lamar commanded the Chicks with her above-average 457 despite her team getting swept. Rule 6B remains in 3rd place, while the Chicks sink 1 spot to 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Turkey Sandwich alternated splits with WWJB. Starring Jason Carpio with his above-average 607 series, Turkey Sandwich collected 3 wins against WWJB. On the other side, Most Valuable Bowler Rich Foster guided WWJB with his outstanding 490 despite his team notching only a single win. Turkey Sandwich leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while WWJB remains in 6th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Angela Bradford (223,219), Carl Goetz (211), Cory Chorpenning (205,224), David Codding (224,224,207), Duncan Ferber (202), Jason Carpio (232,223), Ken M. Wilson (226), and Scott Murdock (221)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though David Codding came closest), while Rob Kaszuba made quick work of Division 2. Janelle (Laube) Lamar triumphed over her enemies in Division 3, and Rich Foster shut down Division 4. Finally, Cory Chorpenning (Division 1) claimed victory in this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Phil Schroeder governs Division 2; Adam Messner calls the shots for Division 3; and Deena Slinkard leads Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Sh!t, Another Season will battle 7th-place Turkey Sandwich (hcp 120). Another Season is expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Turkey Sandwich is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 9th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 99) will socialize with 1st-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You.
