Spring 2009 Week 11 Robo-RecapThe eleventh week of Spring 2009 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. As for the men, Duncan Ferber snagged this week's high game with a 233, and high series was earned by Ken M. Wilson with a 608. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chicks With Balls hung out with Chico's Bail Bonds. Even though highlighted by the skills of Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her above-average 439 series, the Chicks got swept by Chico's. As for the opposition, #1 Head-to-Head Ken M. Wilson dominated Chico's with his wondrous 608 as they swept the competition. Chicks With Balls remains in 6th place, while Chico's move 1 spot to 2nd.

XXX remains in 10th place, while Wonder Friends remain in 9th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Turkey Sandwich had a delightful time with Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. While headlined by Jason Carpio with his below-average 485 series, Turkey Sandwich got swept by Schlitz. • Moving to lanes 21&22, 6th-place Chicks With Balls will roll against 7th-place WWJB (hcp 28). The Chicks might maintain their current strength as they just barely win the series; while WWJB ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds will battle 3rd-place Rule 6B (hcp 85). Chico's will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Rule 6B will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.

Spring 2009, Week 9

Posted by BowlingBot On March - 17 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Spring 2009 Week 9 Robo-RecapBy now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2009 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (184) and series (513) for the women, while Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (215) and series (598) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: WWJB kept grabbing the balls of XXX. Blessed by AJ Taylor with his 392 series, WWJB celebrated a clean sweep over XXX. . With XXX forfeiting, all WWJB needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. WWJB leaps 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while XXX remains in 10th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 21 & 22: Sh!t, Another Season had a delightful time with Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Starring trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Duncan Ferber and his above-average 598 series, Another Season collected 3 wins against Schlitz. On the other half of the score sheet, Angela Bradford called the shots for Schlitz with her above-average 513 despite her team notching only a single win. Sh!t, Another Season leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Schlitz plunges 2 spots to 3rd.

On lanes 23 & 24: Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends chucked gutter balls with Chicks With Balls. Showcasing Drew Eldridge with his 384 series, Wonder Friends split the series with the Chicks. Spring 2009, Week 8

Posted by BowlingBot On March - 10 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Spring 2009 Week 8 Robo-RecapWe are now halfway through the Spring 2009 season, so time is running out for those teams who want a shot at the championship to position themselves. The eighth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (202) and series (528) for the women, while Zach Frank earned this week's high game (213) and series (593) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chico's Bail Bonds couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends. With the strength of David Codding with his 557 series, Chico's missed a clean sweep over Wonder Friends by just one pin. While that was going down, Amanda Zahnweh oversaw Wonder Friends with her wondrous 406 as her team missed getting swept by just one pin. Chico's Bail Bonds leap 2 spots in the standings to 2nd place, while Wonder Friends remain in 8th.

week8On lanes 21 & 22: WWJB deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of No Pinheads. With top billing by Most Valuable Bowler Rich Foster and his powerful 417 series, WWJB collected 3 wins against No Pinheads. Simultaneously, Aubrey Moren ruled No Pinheads with his 519 despite his team notching only a single win. WWJB leaps 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while No Pinheads plunge 2 spots to 4th.

On lanes 23 & 24: Turkey Sandwich couldn't stop inappropriately groping XXX. Led by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Zach Frank and his splendid 593 series, Turkey Sandwich collected 3 wins against XXX. Across the ball return, Rich DeYoung shined in XXX with his above-average 517 despite his team notching only a single win. Turkey Sandwich remains in 7th place, while XXX sinks 1 spot to 10th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Sh!t, Another Season alternated splits with Chicks With Balls. Highlighting the skills of Duncan Ferber with his above-average 567 series, Another Season collected 3 wins against the Chicks. On the flipside, Janelle (Laube) Lamar guided the Chicks with her 413 despite her team notching only a single win. Sh!t, Another Season leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while the Chicks sink 1 spot to 6th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Rule 6B had a delightful time with Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Topped by Adam Messner with his thrilling 539 series, Rule 6B split the series with Schlitz. Countering this, Angela Bradford showed off in Schlitz with her above-average 528 as they matched their opponent in wins. Rule 6B remains in 3rd place, while Schlitz remains in 1st.

Adam Messner vanquished Division 3, and Zach Frank had his way with Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz holds the reins in Division 1; Rich DeYoung and Phil Schroeder dominate Division 2 in a tie; Chris Lewis calls the shots for Division 3; and Zach Frank tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 19&20, 9th-place WWJB (hcp 28) will test their mettle against 10th-place XXX. WWJB is expected to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while XXX is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 5th-place Sh!t, Another Season will chuck some balls with 1st-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You (hcp 61). Another Season might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Schlitz ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 10) will socialize with 6th-place Chicks With Balls. Wonder Friends will likely roll decently and win the series; while the Chicks will probably raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
