The third week of Spring 2009 saw five teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 183, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 493. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 227, and high series was earned by Jason Carpio with a 600. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chicks With Balls sparred with Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. In spite of top-billing by Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her 412 series, the Chicks accomplished only 1 win against Schlitz. Concurrently, #1 Power-Ranked Bob Brunker laid down the law in Schlitz with his staggering 589 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Chicks With Balls plummet 2 spots in the standings to 8th place, while Schlitz jumps 2 spots to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with WWJB. Notwithstanding the leadership of Drew Eldridge with his above-average 442 series, Wonder Friends got swept by WWJB. Meanwhile, AJ Taylor guided WWJB with his above-average 403 as they swept the competition. Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends plummet 4 spots in the standings to 5th place, while WWJB jumps 4 spots to 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: XXX shared a few beers with No Pinheads. Although topped by Dave Winger with his below-average 394 series, XXX accomplished only 1 win against No Pinheads. Countering this, Aubrey Moren dominated No Pinheads with his below-average 488 as his team took the series with 3 wins. XXX plummets 2 spots in the standings to 10th place, while No Pinheads move 1 spot to 2nd.
On lanes 25 & 26: Chico's Bail Bonds kept grabbing the balls of Sh!t, Another Season. Headlined by Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz and his dazzling 581 series, Chico's collected 3 wins against Another Season. As for the opposition, Cory Chorpenning took the lead in Another Season with his below-average 596 (with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler ) despite his team notching only a single win. Chico's Bail Bonds leap 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while Another Season plunges 2 spots to 9th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Turkey Sandwich couldn't stop inappropriately groping Rule 6B. Reinforced by Jason Carpio with his 600 series, Turkey Sandwich collected 3 wins against Rule 6B. Across the ball return, Brett Schroeder shined in Rule 6B with his outstanding 472 despite his team notching only a single win. Turkey Sandwich leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while Rule 6B remains in 4th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by AJ Taylor (154, previous best 151). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by AJ Taylor (403, previous best 395). Adding to the excitement, the 493 rolled by Angela Bradford is this season's new high series among women.

- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 66) will share a couple of pitchers with 4th-place Rule 6B. The Chicks will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Rule 6B will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 6th-place WWJB (hcp 67) will meet with 7th-place Turkey Sandwich. WWJB might perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Turkey Sandwich ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 10th-place XXX (hcp 156) will throw some gutter balls with 9th-place Sh!t, Another Season. XXX is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Another Season is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
