Fall 2008 Week 8 Robo-RecapWe are now halfway through the Fall 2008 season, so time is running out for those teams who want a shot at the championship to position themselves. The eighth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (204) and series (537) for the women. As for the men, Ryan Doll snagged this week's high game with a 241, and high series was earned by Cory Chorpenning with a 688. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chico's Bail Bonds couldn't stop inappropriately groping Dave and the Wingers. Headlined by Carl Goetz with his stunning 614 series, Chico's celebrated a clean sweep over the Wingers. In the midst of this, Rob Kaszuba dominated the Wingers with his below-average 402 despite his team getting swept. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while the Wingers remain in 10th.

week8On lanes 21 & 22: WWJB spent some quality time with Bad Newz Kennels. Regardless of the star power of Justin Wehrman with his 403 series, WWJB got swept by the Kennels. In the meantime, Freda Schroeder commanded the Kennels with her dramatic 537 as they swept the competition. WWJB remains in 9th place, while the Kennels move 1 spot to 4th.

On lanes 23 & 24: Dios Mios matched wits with Bowl Movement. In spite of top-billing by Bill Krejci with his 556 series, Dios Mios got swept by Bowl Movement. Conversely, Travis Kleiner reigned supreme in Bowl Movement with his commanding 562 (along with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Cory Chorpenning) as they swept the competition. Dios Mios remains in 3rd place, while Bowl Movement moves 1 spot to 6th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Ain't No Sh!t alternated between bowling and dry humping Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty. Blessed by Most Valuable Bowler Cory Chorpenning and his astonishing 688 series, Ain't No Sh!t celebrated a clean sweep over Spare The Rod. On the other half of the score sheet, Andrea Caudillo guided Spare The Rod with her phenomenal 469 despite her team getting swept. Ain't No Sh!t remains in 1st place, while Spare The Rod sinks 1 spot to 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Is This Billable? celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Livin' On A Spare. Demonstrating the prowess of Ryan Doll with his above-average 605 series, Is This Billable? split the series with Livin' On A Spare. As for the opposition, Drew Eldridge took the lead in Livin' On A Spare with his staggering 434 as they matched their opponent in wins. Is This Billable? remains in 8th place, while Livin' On A Spare sinks 1 spot to 7th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (200,226), Cory Chorpenning (236,237,215), Freda Schroeder (204), Ken M. Wilson (226), Kendall Kukowski (223), Ryan Doll (241), and Travis Kleiner (210)

New personal best series were rolled tonight by Travis Kleiner (562, previous best 531) and Cory Chorpenning (688, previous best 676).

Freda Schroeder claimed the season's women's high series with her 537. In addition, Cory Chorpenning bagged the season's men's high series with his 688.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz creamed Division 1, while Aubrey Moren vanquished Division 2. Travis Kleiner had his way with Division 3, and Lindsay Jamis decimated Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz reigns over Division 1; Aubrey Moren dominates Division 2; Travis Kleiner leads Division 3; and Amanda Zahnweh holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 19&20, 9th-place WWJB (hcp 17) will share a couple of pitchers with 6th-place Bowl Movement. WWJB is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bowl Movement is forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 1st-place Ain't No Sh!t will chill with 7th-place Livin' On A Spare (hcp 223). Ain't No Sh!t might have the bottom drop out of their averages as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Livin' On A Spare ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 10th-place Dave and the Wingers (hcp 46) will tussle with 5th-place Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty. The Wingers will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Spare The Rod will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Next up, on lanes 25&26, 4th-place Bad Newz Kennels will face 8th-place Is This Billable? (hcp 54). The Kennels might perform well and sweep the series; while Is This Billable? ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds will hang out with 3rd-place Dios Mios (hcp 64). Chico's are predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while Dios Mios are anticipated to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
