The Spring 2008 season draws to a close, with Bad Newz Kennels officially earning this season's championship title! The final week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (202) and series (550) for the women, while Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (234) and series (604) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Bad Newz Kennels celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with You Don't Know Sh!t. Showcasing #1 Power-Ranked Aubrey Moren and his spectacular 562 series, with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Jason Garcia, the Kennels collected 3 wins against Don't Know Sh!t. Concurrently, Duncan Ferber drew the spotlight in Don't Know Sh!t with his above-average 604 despite his team notching only a single win. Bad Newz Kennels complete in 1st place, while Don't Know Sh!t sinks 1 spot to end up with 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: 3 Dudes and a Doll kept grabbing the balls of ?. Led by Chris Rigdon with his 542 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Jason Garcia, 3 Dudes and a Doll collected 3 wins against ?. As for the opposition, John Coleman mastered ? with his above-average 549 despite his team notching only a single win. 3 Dudes and a Doll leaps 1 spot in the standings to end the season in 2nd place, while ? wind up in 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Ebowla shared a few beers with Dr. Strangelanes, Or How I Learned To Stop Opening And Earn The Belt. Regardless of the star power of Travis Kleiner with his below-average 410 series, Ebowla accomplished only 1 win against Dr. Strangelanes. Simultaneously, Seth Gunderson called the shots for Dr. Strangelanes with his 508 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Ebowla end in 5th place, while Dr. Strangelanes come out in 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: It's Britney, Bitch faced off against Sofa King Good. Highlighting the skills of Jeff Unseld with his below-average 376 series, Britney split the series with Sofa King. In the meantime, Don Glasscock ruled Sofa King with his below-average 578 as they matched their opponent in wins. It's Britney, Bitch finish in 7th place, while Sofa King cross the finish line in 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Dios Mios took turns kicking the ball return with Split Happens. With Dios Mios forfeiting, all Split Happens needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. . But Split Happens also forfeited, making this entire matchup a waste of time to have written about. Dios Mios 9th place, while Split Happens 10th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Aubrey Moren (213), Cory Chorpenning (209,214), Don Glasscock (201,222), Duncan Ferber (234), Freda Schroeder (202), John Coleman (206), and John Richardson (211)
After a hard fought season, the Tournament of Champions was won tonight by Aubrey Moren (Division 4),
with John Richardson (Division 3) landing in second place. Aubrey will pocket the nice first-place pot,
while John will take away the second-place pot. Congratulations!
