Spring 2007 Week 15 Robo-RecapThe fifteenth week of Spring 2007 saw one team climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (187) and series (535) for the women. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Ken M. Wilson with a 626. Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: T.B.D. faced off against X9XX. In spite of the prowess of Nik Domann with his 520 series, T.B.D. got swept by X9XX. On the adjacent lane, Dennis Laube took the lead in X9XX with his above-average 507 as they swept the competition. T.B.D. remains in 10th place, while X9XX remains in 3rd.

week15On lanes 17 & 18: King Pins had a delightful time with Unstoppabowl. Though reinforced by Duncan Ferber with his 548 series, King Pins accomplished only 1 win against Unstoppabowl. While that was going down, Kendall Kukowski shined in Unstoppabowl with his above-average 487 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Greg Middleton, as well as #1 Head-to-Head ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. King Pins drop 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Unstoppabowl remains in 4th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Guttersluts had a rendezvous with Frickin' Ten Pin. Featuring John Boren with his above-average 595 series, Guttersluts collected 3 wins against Ten Pin. Concurrently, Carl Goetz dominated Ten Pin with his 550 despite his team notching only a single win. Guttersluts remains in 1st place, while Ten Pin sinks 1 spot to 8th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Doll's Balls tussled with Churn and Burn. Showcasing Ryan Doll with his splendid 590 series, Doll's Balls celebrated a clean sweep over Churn and Burn. . With Churn and Burn forfeiting, all Doll's Balls needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. Doll's Balls leap 4 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Churn and Burn sinks 1 spot to 9th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Oily Balls kept grabbing the balls of Those 4 Bowlers. Led by #1 Head-to-Head Ken M. Wilson and his above-average 626 series, Oily Balls celebrated a clean sweep over 4 Bowlers. On the other half of the score sheet, Seth Gunderson guided 4 Bowlers with his 538 despite his team getting swept. Oily Balls remains in 2nd place, while 4 Bowlers sink 1 spot to 6th.

Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (202,221), Carl Goetz (237), Duncan Ferber (227), Greg Middleton (223), John Boren (232), John Richardson (213), Ken M. Wilson (204,236), Nik Domann (216), Ryan Doll (225), Scott Murdock (203), and Seth Gunderson (210)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Greg Middleton (223, previous best 186). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Chris Lewis (502, previous best 498).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson vanquished Division 1, while Freda Schroeder crushed Division 2. Chris Lewis trounced Division 3, and Andee Weinfurt dominated Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize!

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place Guttersluts (hcp 48) will roll against 2nd-place Oily Balls. Guttersluts are expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Oily Balls are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place X9XX will socialize with 4th-place Unstoppabowl (hcp 56). X9XX might maintain their current strength as they just barely miss sweeping the series; while Unstoppabowl ought to hold steady as they just barely avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Doll's Balls (hcp 3) will test their mettle against 6th-place Those 4 Bowlers. Doll's Balls will likely roll decently, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while 4 Bowlers will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 7th-place King Pins (hcp 77) will challenge 8th-place Frickin' Ten Pin. King Pins might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Ten Pin; while Ten Pin ought to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 9th-place Churn and Burn will match wits with 10th-place T.B.D. (hcp 33). Churn and Burn is predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while T.B.D. is anticipated to drop their average a bit while endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

Demonstrating the prowess of Ryan Doll with his above-average 547 series, Doll's Balls split the series with Guttersluts. Concurrently, John Boren reigned supreme in Guttersluts with his below-average 537 as they matched their opponent in wins. Doll's Balls remains in 6th place, while Guttersluts remain in 1st.

On lanes 21 & 22: King Pins entered a showdown to the death with T.B.D.. Despite the strength of Duncan Ferber with his above-average 576 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Daniel Bolton, King Pins managed only 1.5 wins against T.B.D.. In the midst of this, Nik Domann drew the spotlight in T.B.D. with his 537 (along with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Daniel Bolton) as his team took the series with 2.5 wins. King Pins drop 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while T.B.D. remains in 10th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Frickin' Ten Pin couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Unstoppabowl. Showcasing Carl Goetz with his 553 series, Ten Pin collected 3 wins against Unstoppabowl. On the flipside, Cory Chorpenning dominated Unstoppabowl with his 564 despite his team notching only a single win. Frickin' Ten Pin remains in 9th place, while Unstoppabowl remains in 3rd.

Bowlers enjoying a guest admission to The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (208,222), Cory Chorpenning (204,203), Don Glasscock (238), Duncan Ferber (219), Jason Carpio (201), John Boren (218), John Coleman (206), Ken M. Wilson (218), Nik Domann (200), Phil Schroeder (204), and Ryan Doll (200)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson made quick work of Division 1, while Phil Schroeder topped Division 2. David Parre walloped Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Greg Middleton came closest). And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: John Boren calls the shots for Division 1; Seth Gunderson is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Dave Hickerson holds the reins in Division 3; and Daniel Bolton runs the show in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Churn and Burn will match wits with 8th-place King Pins (hcp 45). Churn and Burn is expected to roll a little low, but split the series with King Pins; while King Pins are forecast to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 1st-place Guttersluts (hcp 56) will tussle with 4th-place X9XX. Guttersluts might roll a little low and get swept; while X9XX ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Unstoppabowl will share a couple of pitchers with 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers (hcp 28). Unstoppabowl will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while 4 Bowlers will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Oily Balls will battle 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pin (hcp 34). Oily Balls might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Ten Pin; while Ten Pin ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 10th-place T.B.D. (hcp 28) will roll against 6th-place Doll's Balls. T.B.D. is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Doll's Balls are anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
