Spring 2007 Week 1 Robo-RecapThe Spring 2007 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 170, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 465. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz and Pat Searcy, who tied with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Oily Balls alternated splits with T.B.D.. Featuring Pat Searcy with his 595 series, Oily Balls celebrated a clean sweep over T.B.D.. Concurrently, Steve Kiernan commanded T.B.D. with his 528 despite his team getting swept. Oily Balls leaves the gate in 1st place, while T.B.D. starts off with 10th.

week1On lanes 17 & 18: Doll's Balls traded lane malfunctions with Those 4 Bowlers. Reinforced by Ryan Doll with his 487 series, Doll's Balls split the series with 4 Bowlers. On the other side, Seth Gunderson laid down the law in 4 Bowlers with his 470 as they matched their opponent in wins. Doll's Balls begins with 5th place, while 4 Bowlers get rolling in 6th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Unstoppabowl tussled with X9XX. With the strength of #1 Head-to-Head Cory Chorpenning and his 584 series, Unstoppabowl split the series with X9XX. Across the ball return, Dave Hickerson guided X9XX with his 424 as they matched their opponent in wins. Unstoppabowl gets underway in 4th place, while X9XX gets going with 7th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Guttersluts faced off against Churn and Burn. Topped by John Boren with his 518 series, Guttersluts collected 2.5 wins against Churn and Burn. As for the opposition, Jason Carpio mastered Churn and Burn with his 502 despite his team losing the matchup with only 1.5 victories. Guttersluts begins the season in 3rd place, while Churn and Burn begins in 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: King Pins spent a romantic evening with Frickin' Ten Pin. While headlined by Daniel Bolton with his 376 series, King Pins accomplished only 1 win against Ten Pin. In the meantime, #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz ruled Ten Pin with his 595 as his team took the series with 3 wins. King Pins 9th place, while Ten Pin 2nd.

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 3rd-place Guttersluts will battle 5th-place Doll's Balls (hcp 8). Guttersluts are expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Doll's Balls are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 1st-place Oily Balls will socialize with 7th-place X9XX (estimated hcp 178). Oily Balls might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while X9XX ought to catapult their team average they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 10th-place T.B.D. will roll against 9th-place King Pins (estimated hcp 126). T.B.D. will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while King Pins will probably catapult their team average they rack up a sweep.

  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Churn and Burn will spend some quality time with 6th-place Those 4 Bowlers. Churn and Burn is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while 4 Bowlers are anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
