The sixth week of Fall 2006 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (202) and series (553) for the women, while Pete Forster earned this week's high game (237) and series (608) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins kept grabbing the balls of Bowlkake2. Led by Carl Goetz with his above-average 536 series, Frickin' Ten Pins split the series with Bowlkake2. On the flipside, Dennis Laube guided Bowlkake2 with his 479 as they matched their opponent in wins. Frickin' Ten Pins plummet 2 spots in the standings to 9th place, while Bowlkake2 plunges 2 spots to 8th.
On lanes 17 & 18: All Belts Are Off spent a romantic evening with Split Happens. Although topped by David Codding with his below-average 539 series, the Belt accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. As for the opposition, Most Valuable Bowler James Long called the shots for Split Happens with his miraculous 537 as his team took the series with 3 wins. All Belts Are Off remains in 3rd place, while Split Happens remain in 2nd.
On lanes 19 & 20: Manute Bowl entered a showdown to the death with Guttersluts. With top billing by Travis Kleiner with his thrilling 420 series, Manute Bowl collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. On the other side, Erin deVries showed off in the Guttersluts with her 327 despite her team notching only a single win. Manute Bowl leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while the Guttersluts remain in 10th.
On lanes 21 & 22: TBD faced off against I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter. Highlighting the skills of David Parre with his above-average 511 series, TBD collected 3 wins against Not Gutter. Meanwhile, Ryan Doll laid down the law in Not Gutter with his below-average 423 despite his team notching only a single win. TBD leaps 3 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Not Gutter sinks 1 spot to 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: New Balls, Old Rack celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Hez-Bowl-lah. Featuring Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 600 series, with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler James Long, the Old Rack celebrated a clean sweep over Hez-Bowl-lah. Conversely, Pete Forster drew the spotlight in Hez-Bowl-lah with his 608 despite his team getting swept. New Balls, Old Rack remains in 1st place, while Hez-Bowl-lah remains in 4th.
Bowlers ducking past the bouncer at The 200 Club include: Angela Bradford (202), Carl Goetz (213), David Codding (200), John Richardson (214), Ken M. Wilson (230,224), Pat Searcy (201), and Pete Forster (237,203)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson trounced Division 1, while Freda Schroeder spanked Division 2. David Parre clobbered Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Nick Crofoot came closest). Finally, Travis Kleiner (Division 4) rolled his ass to the top of this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson reigns over Division 1; Rich DeYoung dominates Division 2; David Parre and Phil Schroeder top Division 3 in a tie; and Andy McLeod leads Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 5th-place TBD (hcp 108) will chuck some balls with 3rd-place All Belts Are Off. TBD is expected to perform well, but split the series with the Belt; while the Belt is forecast to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 7th-place Manute Bowl will chill with 6th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 6). Manute Bowl might perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Not Gutter ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack will match wits with 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pins (hcp 34). The Old Rack will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Frickin' Ten Pins will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Next up, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Split Happens (hcp 32) will test their mettle against 4th-place Hez-Bowl-lah. Split Happens might perform well and win the series; while Hez-Bowl-lah ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 10th-place Guttersluts (hcp 152) will socialize with 8th-place Bowlkake2. The Guttersluts are predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bowlkake2 is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
