Fall 2006 Week 10 Robo-RecapThe Fall 2006 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The tenth week saw four teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford landed this week's high game for the women with a 168, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford and Janelle (Laube) Lamar, who tied with a 432. As for the men, James Long snagged this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Thomas Lin with a 565. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: New Balls, Old Rack shared a few beers with Split Happens. Though featuring Ken M. Wilson with his 543 series, the Old Rack got swept by Split Happens. In the midst of this, #1 Power-Ranked James Long commanded Split Happens with his stupendous 548 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Nick Allegri) as they swept the competition. New Balls, Old Rack plummets 2 spots in the standings to 3rd place, while Split Happens move 1 spot to 1st.

week10On lanes 17 & 18: All Belts Are Off faced off against Hez-Bowl-lah. With top billing by #1 Head-to-Head Pat Searcy and his above-average 554 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Hez-Bowl-lah. Conversely, Nik Domann laid down the law in Hez-Bowl-lah with his 467 despite his team notching only a single win. All Belts Are Off leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Hez-Bowl-lah sinks 1 spot to 5th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlkake2 kept grabbing the balls of Manute Bowl. With the strength of Thomas Lin with his above-average 565 series, Bowlkake2 collected 3 wins against Manute Bowl. On the flipside, Andy McLeod mastered Manute Bowl with his terrific 469 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlkake2 leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Manute Bowl remains in 6th.

On lanes 21 & 22: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Frickin' Ten Pins. Notwithstanding the leadership of Ryan Doll with his above-average 523 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against Frickin' Ten Pins. Countering this, John Richardson reigned supreme in Frickin' Ten Pins with his 457 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Frickin' Ten Pins move 1 spot to 7th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: TBD kept stealing sips of beer from Guttersluts. Demonstrating the prowess of Greg Middleton with his splendid 419 series, TBD collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. . With the Guttersluts forfeiting, all TBD needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. TBD remains in 9th place, while the Guttersluts remain in 10th.

Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: James Long (237), Ken M. Wilson (212), Stefan Miller (200), and Thomas Lin (226)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy triumphed over his enemies in Division 1, while Ryan Doll trounced Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Joel Henning came closest), and Andy McLeod conquered Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Joel Henning (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Stefan Miller holds the reins in Division 1; Rich DeYoung dominates Division 2; Scott Murdock governs Division 3; and Andy McLeod leads Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 2nd-place All Belts Are Off will challenge 5th-place Hez-Bowl-lah (hcp 52). The Belt is expected to perform well and win the series; while Hez-Bowl-lah is forecast to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 1st-place Split Happens will share a couple of pitchers with 8th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 42). Split Happens might maintain their current strength as they just barely miss getting swept; while Not Gutter ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 10th-place Guttersluts (hcp 166) will meet with 3rd-place New Balls, Old Rack. The Guttersluts will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Old Rack will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 9th-place TBD (hcp 62) will compete against 7th-place Frickin' Ten Pins. TBD might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Frickin' Ten Pins ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 4th-place Bowlkake2 will throw some gutter balls with 6th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 76). Bowlkake2 is predicted to perform well, but split the series with Manute Bowl; while Manute Bowl is anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

Fall 2006 Week 9 Robo-RecapBy now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2006 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (160) and series (413) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (279) and series (651) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Bowlkake2 couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Split Happens. With top billing by Dennis Laube with his 502 series, Bowlkake2 collected 3 wins against Split Happens. While that was going down, James Long guided Split Happens with his 457 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlkake2 drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Split Happens remain in 2nd.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 17 & 18: Guttersluts alternated splits with Frickin' Ten Pins. Led by Kris Hiestand with his spectacular 378 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Ariel Waldman, the Guttersluts collected 3 wins against Frickin' Ten Pins. Concurrently, Carl Goetz showed off in Frickin' Ten Pins with his above-average 551 despite his team notching only a single win. Guttersluts remains in 10th place, while Frickin' Ten Pins remain in 8th.

On lanes 19 & 20: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter had some one-on-one time with All Belts Are Off. Though featuring Ryan Doll with his awe-inspiring 553 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. Countering this, David Codding ruled the Belt with his above-average 643 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter remains in 7th place, while the Belt remains in 3rd.

On lanes 21 & 22: New Balls, Old Rack entered a showdown to the death with Manute Bowl. Even though highlighted by the skills of Ken M. Wilson with his splendid 651 series, the Old Rack accomplished only 1 win against Manute Bowl. Conversely, Andy McLeod mastered Manute Bowl with his stupendous 518 as his team took the series with 3 wins. New Balls, Old Rack remains in 1st place, while Manute Bowl remains in 6th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Hez-Bowl-lah waged a heated competition against TBD. Headlined by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Rich DeYoung and his astounding 634 series, Hez-Bowl-lah celebrated a clean sweep over TBD. As for the opposition, David Parre laid down the law in TBD with his 448 despite his team getting swept. Hez-Bowl-lah leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while TBD remains in 9th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Ariel Waldman (146, previous best 119). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Ariel Waldman (369, previous best 321).

Adding to the excitement, the 279 rolled by Ken M. Wilson is this season's new high game for men.

The 279 rolled by Ken M. Wilson is tied for the 2nd-best game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Stefan Miller came closest), while Rich DeYoung rolled his ass to the top of Division 2. Janelle (Laube) Lamar mopped up Division 3, and Andy McLeod topped Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Nick Crofoot (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Stefan Miller leads Division 1; Rich DeYoung calls the shots for Division 2; Scott Murdock runs the show in Division 3; and Andy McLeod reigns over Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack will socialize with 2nd-place Split Happens (hcp 80). The Old Rack is expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Split Happens are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place All Belts Are Off will test their mettle against 4th-place Hez-Bowl-lah (hcp 52). The Belt might perform well and win the series; while Hez-Bowl-lah ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Bowlkake2 will battle 6th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 75). Bowlkake2 will likely have a bit of an off night and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Manute Bowl will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 7th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 87) will challenge 8th-place Frickin' Ten Pins. Fall 2006 Week 8 Robo-RecapWe are now halfway through the Fall 2006 season, so time is running out for those teams who want a shot at the championship to position themselves. The eighth week saw four teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford landed this week's high game for the women with a 176, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 447. As for the men, Tim Segraves snagged this week's high game with a 223, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 560. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Hez-Bowl-lah entered a showdown to the death with I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter. In spite of the prowess of Rich DeYoung with his 487 series, Hez-Bowl-lah accomplished only 1 win against Not Gutter. Concurrently, John Boren showed off in Not Gutter with his 488 (along with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Dennis Laube) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hez-Bowl-lah drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Not Gutter moves 1 spot to 7th.

week8On lanes 17 & 18: Bowlkake2 shared a platter of cheese sticks with New Balls, Old Rack. With the strength of Dennis Laube, Tim Segraves with their 509 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Dennis Laube, Bowlkake2 collected 3 wins against the Old Rack. Simultaneously, Ken M. Wilson dominated the Old Rack with his below-average 489 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlkake2 leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the Old Rack remains in 1st.

On lanes 19 & 20: TBD couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Split Happens. Though featuring David Parre with his 459 series, TBD got swept by Split Happens. As for the opposition, Nick Allegri laid down the law in Split Happens with his 493 as they swept the competition. TBD plummets 2 spots in the standings to 9th place, while Split Happens move 1 spot to 2nd.

On lanes 21 & 22: Guttersluts couldn't stop inappropriately groping All Belts Are Off. With the Guttersluts forfeiting, all the Belt needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. In their battle to get within at least 40 pins of average, David Codding guided the Belt with his 560 despite his team notching only a single win. Guttersluts remains in 10th place, while the Belt sinks 1 spot to 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Manute Bowl accepted a challenge by Frickin' Ten Pins. Reinforced by Travis Kleiner with his above-average 415 series, Manute Bowl split the series with Frickin' Ten Pins. On the adjacent lane, Carl Goetz took the lead in Frickin' Ten Pins with his 527 as they matched their opponent in wins. Manute Bowl remains in 6th place, while Frickin' Ten Pins move 1 spot to 8th.

Bowlers slipping into The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (210), David Codding (210), and Tim Segraves (223)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Stefan Miller decimated Division 1, while Dennis Laube dominated Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though David Parre came closest), and Travis Kleiner spanked Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson holds the reins in Division 1; Rich DeYoung tops Division 2; Scott Murdock calls the shots for Division 3; and Travis Kleiner leads Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 4th-place Bowlkake2 will roll against 2nd-place Split Happens (hcp 54). Bowlkake2 is expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Split Happens are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 10th-place Guttersluts (hcp 148) will chill with 8th-place Frickin' Ten Pins. The Guttersluts might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Frickin' Ten Pins ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 7th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 135) will compete against 3rd-place All Belts Are Off. Not Gutter will likely roll decently, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack will tussle with 6th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 108). The Old Rack might maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Manute Bowl ought to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.

Split Happens drop 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Hez-Bowl-lah remains in 4th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Guttersluts couldn't stop inappropriately groping Bowlkake2. Despite the strength of Kris Hiestand with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 280 series, the Guttersluts got swept by Bowlkake2. Countering this, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Tim Segraves shined in Bowlkake2 with his terrific 558 as they swept the competition. Guttersluts remains in 10th place, while Bowlkake2 jumps 3 spots to 5th.

Bowlers bribing their way into The 200 Club include: Ken M. Wilson (216), Thomas Lin (208), and Tim Segraves (212)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy made quick work of Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Rich DeYoung came closest). Scott Murdock cleaned up Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 4 as it was a complete embarassment. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Carl Goetz (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Rich DeYoung calls the shots for Division 2; Scott Murdock dominates Division 3; and Andy McLeod holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 4th-place Hez-Bowl-lah will spend some quality time with 8th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 81). Hez-Bowl-lah is expected to perform well and win the series; while Not Gutter is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 5th-place Bowlkake2 (hcp 26) will chill with 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack. Bowlkake2 might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Old Rack ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 7th-place TBD (hcp 9) will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place Split Happens. TBD will likely roll decently and win the series; while Split Happens will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 10th-place Guttersluts (hcp 194) will tussle with 2nd-place All Belts Are Off. The Guttersluts might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Belt ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 6th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 86) will challenge 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pins. Manute Bowl is predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Frickin' Ten Pins are anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.

Fall 2006 Week 6 Robo-RecapThe sixth week of Fall 2006 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (202) and series (553) for the women, while Pete Forster earned this week's high game (237) and series (608) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Bowlkake2. Headlined by Carl Goetz with his above-average 536 series, Frickin' Ten Pins split the series with Bowlkake2. Meanwhile, Dennis Laube dominated Bowlkake2 with his 479 as they matched their opponent in wins. Frickin' Ten Pins plummet 2 spots in the standings to 9th place, while Bowlkake2 plunges 2 spots to 8th.

week6On lanes 17 & 18: All Belts Are Off chucked gutter balls with Split Happens. Even though highlighted by the skills of David Codding with his below-average 539 series, the Belt accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. While that was going down, Most Valuable Bowler James Long shined in Split Happens with his marvelous 537 as his team took the series with 3 wins. All Belts Are Off remains in 3rd place, while Split Happens remain in 2nd.

On lanes 19 & 20: Manute Bowl entered a showdown to the death with Guttersluts. Reinforced by Travis Kleiner with his astounding 420 series, Manute Bowl collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. Across the ball return, Erin deVries guided the Guttersluts with her 327 despite her team notching only a single win. Manute Bowl leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while the Guttersluts remain in 10th.

On lanes 21 & 22: TBD kept grabbing the balls of I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter. Featuring David Parre with his above-average 511 series, TBD collected 3 wins against Not Gutter. Countering this, Ryan Doll showed off in Not Gutter with his below-average 423 despite his team notching only a single win. TBD leaps 3 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Not Gutter sinks 1 spot to 6th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: New Balls, Old Rack hung out with Hez-Bowl-lah. Blessed by Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 600 series, with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler James Long, the Old Rack celebrated a clean sweep over Hez-Bowl-lah. On the other side, Pete Forster commanded Hez-Bowl-lah with his 608 despite his team getting swept. New Balls, Old Rack remains in 1st place, while Hez-Bowl-lah remains in 4th.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson ruled Division 1, while Freda Schroeder mopped up Division 2. David Parre spanked Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Nick Crofoot came closest). Finally, Travis Kleiner (Division 4) whipped this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson calls the shots for Division 1; Rich DeYoung is in the driver's seat in Division 2; David Parre and Phil Schroeder run the show in Division 3 in a tie; and Andy McLeod reigns over Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 5th-place TBD (hcp 108) will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place All Belts Are Off. TBD is expected to perform well, but split the series with the Belt; while the Belt is forecast to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 7th-place Manute Bowl will battle 6th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 6). Manute Bowl might perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Not Gutter ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack will compete against 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pins (hcp 34). The Old Rack will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Frickin' Ten Pins will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Split Happens (hcp 32) will chill with 4th-place Hez-Bowl-lah. Split Happens might perform well and win the series; while Hez-Bowl-lah ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
