The Fall 2006 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Deena Slinkard landed this week's high game for the women with a 192, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 502. As for the men, David Codding earned this week's high game (222) and series (623). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 11 & 12: New Balls, Old Rack sparred with Guttersluts. Featuring Ken M. Wilson with his 527 series, the Old Rack collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. In the midst of this, Kris Hiestand took the lead in the Guttersluts with his 347 despite his team notching only a single win. New Balls, Old Rack begins with 4th place, while the Guttersluts start off with 9th.

On lanes 13 & 14: Hez-Bowl-lah shared a few beers with All Belts Are Off. Though reinforced by Nik Domann with his 473 series, Hez-Bowl-lah accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. On the other side, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head David Codding oversaw the Belt with his 623 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hez-Bowl-lah begins the season in 6th place, while the Belt gets going with 2nd.

On lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins did battle with TBD. Highlighting the skills of Carl Goetz with his 539 series, Frickin' Ten Pins celebrated a clean sweep over TBD. Countering this, David Parre reigned supreme in TBD with his 456 despite his team getting swept. Frickin' Ten Pins starts out in 1st place, while TBD begins in 10th.

On lanes 17 & 18: Manute Bowl couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Bowlkake2. In spite of the prowess of Andy McLeod with his 435 series, Manute Bowl accomplished only 1 win against Bowlkake2. Concurrently, Thomas Lin dominated Bowlkake2 with his 548 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Manute Bowl leaves the gate in 7th place, while Bowlkake2 gets rolling in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter kept stealing sips of beer from Split Happens. Despite the strength of Ryan Doll with his 475 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. On the adjacent lane, Nick Allegri called the shots for Split Happens with his 545 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter 8th place, while Split Happens 5th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 49) will challenge 6th-place Hez-Bowl-lah. Manute Bowl is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Hez-Bowl-lah is forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
