The Fall 2006 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Deena Slinkard landed this week's high game for the women with a 192, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 502. As for the men, David Codding earned this week's high game (222) and series (623). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 11 & 12: New Balls, Old Rack had a rendezvous with Guttersluts. Reinforced by Ken M. Wilson with his 527 series, the Old Rack collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. In the meantime, Kris Hiestand laid down the law in the Guttersluts with his 347 despite his team notching only a single win. New Balls, Old Rack gets underway in 4th place, while the Guttersluts begin in 9th.
On lanes 13 & 14: Hez-Bowl-lah shared a few beers with All Belts Are Off. Although blessed by Nik Domann with his 473 series, Hez-Bowl-lah accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. On the flipside, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head David Codding took the lead in the Belt with his 623 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hez-Bowl-lah begins the season in 6th place, while the Belt gets rolling in 2nd.
On lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of TBD. Headlined by Carl Goetz with his 539 series, Frickin' Ten Pins celebrated a clean sweep over TBD. In the midst of this, David Parre showed off in TBD with his 456 despite his team getting swept. Frickin' Ten Pins starts out in 1st place, while TBD gets going with 10th.
On lanes 17 & 18: Manute Bowl accepted a challenge by Bowlkake2. In spite of the prowess of Andy McLeod with his 435 series, Manute Bowl accomplished only 1 win against Bowlkake2. Simultaneously, Thomas Lin dominated Bowlkake2 with his 548 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Manute Bowl leaves the gate in 7th place, while Bowlkake2 commences the season with 3rd.
Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter spent some quality time with Split Happens. In spite of top-billing by Ryan Doll with his 475 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. Countering this, Nick Allegri oversaw Split Happens with his 545 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter 8th place, while Split Happens 5th.
