The Fall 2006 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Deena Slinkard landed this week's high game for the women with a 192, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 502. As for the men, David Codding earned this week's high game (222) and series (623). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 11 & 12: New Balls, Old Rack kept stealing sips of beer from Guttersluts. Blessed by Ken M. Wilson with his 527 series, the Old Rack collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. Concurrently, Kris Hiestand mastered the Guttersluts with his 347 despite his team notching only a single win. New Balls, Old Rack starts out in 4th place, while the Guttersluts commence the season with 9th.

On lanes 13 & 14: Hez-Bowl-lah traded lane malfunctions with All Belts Are Off. Although topped by Nik Domann with his 473 series, Hez-Bowl-lah accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. In the meantime, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head David Codding dominated the Belt with his 623 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hez-Bowl-lah begins with 6th place, while the Belt starts off with 2nd.

On lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins accepted a challenge by TBD. Demonstrating the prowess of Carl Goetz with his 539 series, Frickin' Ten Pins celebrated a clean sweep over TBD. Countering this, David Parre guided TBD with his 456 despite his team getting swept. Frickin' Ten Pins gets underway in 1st place, while TBD begins in 10th.

On lanes 17 & 18: Manute Bowl sparred with Bowlkake2. In spite of top-billing by Andy McLeod with his 435 series, Manute Bowl accomplished only 1 win against Bowlkake2. Conversely, Thomas Lin commanded Bowlkake2 with his 548 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Manute Bowl begins the season in 7th place, while Bowlkake2 gets rolling in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter matched wits with Split Happens. Regardless of the star power of Ryan Doll with his 475 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. On the other side, Nick Allegri ruled Split Happens with his 545 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter 8th place, while Split Happens 5th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 49) will meet with 6th-place Hez-Bowl-lah. Manute Bowl is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Hez-Bowl-lah is forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
• Moving to lanes 17&18, 4th-place New Balls, Old Rack will compete against 10th-place TBD (estimated estimated hcp 91). The Old Rack might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while TBD ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
