Spring 2006 Week 8 Robo-RecapThe Spring 2006 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 156, and women's high series was bagged by Andrea Wilson with a 425. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (299) and series (675). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Split Happens. Regardless of the star power of Seth Gunderson with his above-average 556 series, the Belt accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. On the flipside, James Long showed off in Split Happens with his marvelous 630 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! remains in 1st place, while Split Happens remain in 2nd.

week8On lanes 23 & 24: Bowl Movement accepted a challenge by Sweeter Than Yoohoo. Highlighting the skills of Ken M. Wilson with his amazing 675 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yoohoo. Across the ball return, Stefan Miller mastered Yoohoo with his phenomenal 573 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement remains in 3rd place, while Yoohoo sinks 1 spot to 5th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Yo Mama chucked gutter balls with Bora Bora. Notwithstanding the leadership of Andy Metzler with his 538 series, Yo Mama got swept by Bora Bora. While that was going down, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) John Richardson drew the spotlight in Bora Bora with his dramatic 647 as they swept the competition. Yo Mama drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while Bora Bora jumps 2 spots to 4th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Tatonka faced off against Guttersluts. Blessed by Will Jeter with his 426 series, Tatonka split the series with Guttersluts. Simultaneously, Travis Kleiner laid down the law in Guttersluts with his 356 as they matched their opponent in wins. Tatonka remains in 7th place, while Guttersluts remain in 8th.

Bowlers ducking past the bouncer at The 200 Club include: Andy Metzler (201), Carl Goetz (213), David Codding (213,236,204), James Long (233), John Richardson (226,209,212), Ken M. Wilson (299), Seth Gunderson (222), Stefan Miller (201,201), and Thomas Lin (212)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Ken M. Wilson (299, previous best 256). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by James Long (630, previous best 598), Andrea Wilson (425, previous best 403), and John Richardson (647, previous best 644).

Adding to the excitement, the 299 rolled by Ken M. Wilson is this season's new high game for men.

KEN M. WILSON SET THE NEW ALL-TIME HIGH GAME WITH HIS 299! CONGRATULATIONS!
The 675 rolled by Ken M. Wilson is the new 9th-best series in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Ken M. Wilson came closest), while Stefan Miller crushed Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Freda Schroeder came closest), and Andrea Wilson whipped Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz holds the reins in Division 1; David Codding is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Tim Segraves governs Division 3; and Ryan Doll tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! will test their mettle against 8th-place Guttersluts (hcp 251). The Belt is expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Guttersluts are forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 23&24, 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo will tussle with 4th-place Bora Bora (hcp 44). Yoohoo might roll a little low and get swept; while Bora Bora ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Tatonka (hcp 31) will roll against 2nd-place Split Happens. Tatonka will likely roll decently, yet still manage to just barely miss getting swept; while Split Happens will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 3rd-place Bowl Movement will face 6th-place Yo Mama (hcp 200). Bowl Movement is predicted to perform well and win the series; while Yo Mama is anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

In terms of overall points: Michael Basham calls the shots for Division 1; David Codding is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Tim Segraves holds the reins in Division 3; and Ryan Doll and Andrea Wilson lead Division 4 in a tie.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Yo Mama will meet with 7th-place Tatonka (hcp 1). Yo Mama is expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Tatonka is forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 23&24, 5th-place Bora Bora (hcp 84) will roll against 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka!. Bora Bora might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt ought to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 25&26, 3rd-place Split Happens (hcp 188) will challenge 4th-place Bowl Movement. Split Happens will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bowl Movement will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 8th-place Guttersluts (hcp 237) will battle 2nd-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo. Guttersluts are predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Yoohoo is anticipated to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
