Fall 2005 Week 9 Robo-RecapThe ninth week of Fall 2005 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (158) and series (448) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (237) and series (605) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: The Big LeBowlskies waged a heated competition against Derka, Derka. With the strength of Dennis Laube with his above-average 561 series, The Big LeBowlskies celebrated a clean sweep over Derka, Derka. Concurrently, Thomas Lin shined in Derka, Derka with his below-average 476 despite his team getting swept. The Big LeBowlskies leap 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Derka, Derka plunges 2 spots to 5th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 23 & 24: Munson'd hung out with Harry Potter and the Magic Balls. Though featuring Brian Henderson with his 373 series, Munson'd accomplished only 1 win against Harry Potter. Countering this, Jason Caton mastered Harry Potter with his above-average 420 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Munson'd remains in 8th place, while Harry Potter remains in 7th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Tatonka kept stealing sips of beer from Bora Bora!. Even though highlighted by the skills of Joel Henning with his above-average 389 series, Tatonka got swept by Bora Bora!. On the other side, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) John Richardson reigned supreme in Bora Bora! with his fantastic 480 as they swept the competition. Tatonka remains in 1st place, while Bora Bora! moves 1 spot to 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Same Belt, New Notch shared a platter of cheese sticks with Three Men and a Babe. Showcasing Carl Goetz with his above-average 605 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Three Men and a Babe. While that was going down, Ken M. Wilson took the lead in Three Men and a Babe with his 533 despite his team notching only a single win. Same Belt, New Notch remains in 2nd place, while Three Men and a Babe remains in 6th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (237), David Codding (212), Demond Robinson (202,202), Dennis Laube (200), and Ken M. Wilson (201)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Demond Robinson conquered Division 1, while Jason Carpio won Division 2. Brian Henderson vanquished Division 3, and John Richardson dominated Division 4. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Seth Gunderson holds the reins in Division 2; Phil Schroeder leads Division 3; and Andrea DeLong runs the show in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Three Men and a Babe will compete against 3rd-place Bora Bora! (hcp 92). Three Men and a Babe is expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Bora Bora! is forecast to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 23&24, 2nd-place Same Belt, New Notch will throw some gutter balls with 1st-place Tatonka (hcp 128). The Belt might maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Tatonka ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Then, over on lanes 25&26, 4th-place The Big LeBowlskies will challenge 8th-place Munson'd (hcp 90). The Big LeBowlskies will likely roll decently and win the series; while Munson'd will probably raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 5th-place Derka, Derka will chuck some balls with 7th-place Harry Potter and the Magic Balls (hcp 51). Derka, Derka is predicted to maintain their current strength as they just barely miss sweeping the series; while Harry Potter is anticipated to hold steady as they just barely avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
