A stagnated fifteenth week of Spring 2005 resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 158, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 464. As for the men, Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (223) and series (580).Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Big Pin Pin had a delightful time with Nellielocks and the 3 Spares. With Pin Pin forfeiting, all Nellielocks needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. In their battle to get within at least 40 pins of average, Rich DeYoung called the shots for Nellielocks with his above-average 525 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Big Pin Pin remains in 8th place, while Nellielocks remain in 4th.
On lanes 21 & 22: 4 Play chucked gutter balls with Handicrappers. With the strength of Pat Searcy with his 580 series, 4 Play collected 3 wins against Handicrappers. Simultaneously, Kris Hiestand, Ashley Razak drew the spotlight in Handicrappers with their 390 despite their team notching only a single win. 4 Play remains in 2nd place, while Handicrappers remain in 5th.
On lanes 23 & 24: The Incredibowls hung out with All Belt, No Buckle. Notwithstanding the leadership of Carl Goetz with his below-average 498 series, The Incredibowls got swept by the Belt. On the other half of the score sheet, Seth Gunderson laid down the law in the Belt with his above-average 515 (benefitted greatly by real star — trifecta-winner #1 Power-Ranked, #1 Head-to-Head, and Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock) as they swept the competition. The Incredibowls remains in 6th place, while the Belt remains in 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Bowlingstar Galactica sparred with Sub Parre. Featuring Jason Carpio with his above-average 542 series, the Galactica split the series with Sub Parre. Concurrently, Andy Metzler ruled Sub Parre with his above-average 500 as they matched their opponent in wins. Bowlingstar Galactica remains in 7th place, while Sub Parre remains in 3rd.
Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Jason Carpio (221), Pat Searcy (223), Rich DeYoung (202), and Seth Gunderson (209)
A new personal high game was set tonight by Jason Carpio (221, previous best 213).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Rich DeYoung ruled Division 1, while Seth Gunderson routed Division 2. Scott Murdock mopped up Division 3, and Kris Hiestand topped Division 4. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize!
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place All Belt, No Buckle (hcp 2) will match wits with 2nd-place 4 Play. The Belt is expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while 4 Play is forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Sub Parre (hcp 78) will tussle with 4th-place Nellielocks and the 3 Spares. Sub Parre might perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Nellielocks ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place Handicrappers (hcp 73) will hang out with 6th-place The Incredibowls. Handicrappers will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while The Incredibowls will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Bowlingstar Galactica will throw some gutter balls with 8th-place Big Pin Pin (hcp 43). The Galactica is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Pin Pin is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
