The Spring 2005 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Deena Slinkard landed this week's high game for the women with a 170, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 463. As for the men, Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (214) and series (578). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: All Belt, No Buckle hung out with Nellielocks and the 3 Spares. With the strength of Demond Robinson with his 512 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Nellielocks. On the other half of the score sheet, Dennis Laube oversaw Nellielocks with his 503 despite his team notching only a single win. All Belt, No Buckle gets underway in 1st place, while Nellielocks get rolling in 6th.
On lanes 21 & 22: 4 Play traded lane malfunctions with Bowlingstar Galactica. With top billing by Pat Searcy with his 578 series, 4 Play split the series with the Galactica. On the adjacent lane, #1 Head-to-Head Eric Lynch showed off in the Galactica with his wondrous 560 as they matched their opponent in wins. 4 Play starts out in 4th place, while the Galactica gets going with 5th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Handicrappers entered a showdown to the death with The Incredibowls. In spite of the prowess of Bill Krejci with his 523 series, Handicrappers accomplished only 1 win against The Incredibowls. Meanwhile, Carl Goetz ruled The Incredibowls with his 512 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Handicrappers leaves the gate in 7th place, while The Incredibowls commence the season with 2nd.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Sub Parre deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Big Pin Pin. Notwithstanding the leadership of David Parre with his 430 series, Sub Parre accomplished only 1 win against Pin Pin. In the midst of this, #1 Power-Ranked Mitch Wheeler dominated Pin Pin with his 565 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Sub Parre begins the season in 8th place, while Pin Pin begins in 3rd.
