By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2004 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The fifth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (180) and series (507) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (266) and series (708) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Joey's B*tches celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with The Bowling Stones. Blessed by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his astonishing 708 series, the B*tches split the series with the Stones. While that was going down, Michael Basham drew the spotlight in the Stones with his fantastic 456 as they matched their opponent in wins. Joey's B*tches leap 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while the Stones remain in 4th.
On lanes 17 & 18: 2 Tall Asians, 2 Short Whites hung out with Recreation Intoxication. Starring Dennis Laube with his 505 series, the White Asians celebrated a clean sweep over Recreation. Concurrently, Angela Bradford called the shots for Recreation with her 507 despite her team getting swept. 2 Tall Asians, 2 Short Whites remains in 1st place, while Recreation plunges 3 spots to 5th.
Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: T.R.O.T.B. had some one-on-one time with Got Carpio?. In spite of top-billing by Scott Murdock with his astounding 502 series, T.R.O.T.B. accomplished only 1 win against Got Carpio?. Across the ball return, Eric Lynch reigned supreme in Got Carpio? with his commanding 560 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Jason Carpio) as his team took the series with 3 wins. T.R.O.T.B. remains in 6th place, while Got Carpio? jumps 2 spots to 3rd.
Bowlers lounging at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (266,246), David Codding (208), and Eric Lynch (206)

NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place 2 Tall Asians, 2 Short Whites (hcp 53) will chuck some balls with 2nd-place Joey's B*tches. The White Asians are expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the B*tches are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Got Carpio? will roll against 4th-place The Bowling Stones (hcp 109). Got Carpio? might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Stones ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Recreation Intoxication will share a couple of pitchers with 6th-place T.R.O.T.B. (hcp 47). Recreation is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while T.R.O.T.B. is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
