The ninth week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (168) and series (421) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (212) and series (562) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Spare Change took turns kicking the ball return with Theee Beeelt. Regardless of the star power of #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler Demond Robinson and his above-average 547 series, Spare Change accomplished only 1 win against Theee Beeelt. Conversely, Seth Gunderson called the shots for Theee Beeelt with his 445 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Spare Change drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Theee Beeelt jumps 2 spots to 6th.
On lanes 17 & 18: Atomic Goo had a delightful time with Bowl me Ishmael!. Although topped by Phil Schroeder with his 390 series, Atomic Goo got swept by Ishmael. On the other side, Pat O'Reily ruled Ishmael with his 469 (with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Michael Basham) as they swept the competition. Atomic Goo drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Ishmael moves 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlers of Mass Confusion alternated splits with Wolverines. Reinforced by Jason Carpio with his 490 series, Mass Confusion collected 3 wins against the Wolverines. Countering this, Thomas Lin dominated the Wolverines with his 496 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlers of Mass Confusion remains in 2nd place, while the Wolverines remain in 5th.
Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Anchors Aweigh! waged a heated competition against Gutter Minds. Showcasing Carl Goetz with his 562 series, the Anchors collected 3 wins against Gutter Minds. On the flipside, Pat Searcy guided Gutter Minds with his 535 despite his team notching only a single win. Anchors Aweigh! remains in 1st place, while Gutter Minds sink 1 spot to 7th.
Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (212) and Pat Searcy (203)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Demond Robinson spanked Division 1, while Corey Weinfurt clobbered Division 2. Jim Jones topped Division 3, and Paul Linder ruled Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz holds the reins in Division 1; Corey Weinfurt governs Division 2; Seth Gunderson reigns over Division 3; and Ginger O'Reilly dominates Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Gutter Minds will share a couple of pitchers with 5th-place Wolverines (hcp 56). Gutter Minds are expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Wolverines are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 1st-place Anchors Aweigh! will chuck some balls with 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion (hcp 67). The Anchors might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Mass Confusion ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 8th-place Spare Change will battle 4th-place Atomic Goo (estimated hcp 66). Spare Change will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Atomic Goo will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Theee Beeelt will meet with 3rd-place Bowl me Ishmael! (hcp 68). Theee Beeelt is predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Ishmael is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
