The fifth week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (211) and series (518) for the women. As for the men, Bill Krejci snagged this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Pat Searcy with a 606. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Atomic Goo spent some quality time with Anchors Aweigh!. In spite of top-billing by Most Valuable Bowler Freda Schroeder and her stunning 434 series, Atomic Goo accomplished only 1 win against the Anchors. Simultaneously, Carl Goetz shined in the Anchors with his above-average 564 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Atomic Goo remains in 8th place, while the Anchors remain in 1st.

On lanes 17 & 18: Wolverines shared a few beers with Theee Beeelt. Blessed by Dennis Laube with his 452 series, the Wolverines collected 3 wins against Theee Beeelt. On the adjacent lane, Nik Domann ruled Theee Beeelt with his above-average 500 despite his team notching only a single win. Wolverines remains in 2nd place, while Theee Beeelt sinks 1 spot to 6th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlers of Mass Confusion kept grabbing the balls of Bowl me Ishmael!. Featuring Jason Carpio with his above-average 486 series, Mass Confusion collected 3 wins against Ishmael. Meanwhile, Paul Linder laid down the law in Ishmael with his 375 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlers of Mass Confusion leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Ishmael remains in 7th.

Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Spare Change had some one-on-one time with Gutter Minds. Regardless of the star power of Bill Krejci with his astounding 568 series, Spare Change accomplished only 1 win against Gutter Minds. On the other side, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Pat Searcy commanded Gutter Minds with his phenomenal 606 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Spare Change drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Gutter Minds move 1 spot to 3rd.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz swept Division 1, while Pat Searcy shut down Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Scott Murdock came closest), and Ginger O'Reilly rolled her ass to the top of Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz dominates Division 1; Aaron Weidner holds the reins in Division 2; Scott Murdock is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Ginger O'Reilly leads Division 4.

• First, on lanes 15&16, 3rd-place Gutter Minds will share a couple of pitchers with 5th-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion (hcp 44). Gutter Minds are expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Mass Confusion is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
