Spring 2003 Week 1 Robo-RecapThe Spring 2003 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Four bowlers set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games. Janelle (Laube) Lamar picked up this week's high game (172) and series (496) for the women, while Thomas Lin earned this week's high game (217) and series (593) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: D-Day alternated between bowling and dry humping Top Guns. Reinforced by Demond Robinson with his 496 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Nik Domann, D-Day split the series with Top Guns. As for the opposition, Pat Searcy ruled Top Guns with his 573 as they matched their opponent in wins. D-Day leaves the gate in 5th place, while Top Guns get going with 4th.

week1On lanes 19 & 20: When Push Comes To Shove shared a few beers with Canned Crabs. With top billing by Dennis Laube with his 523 series, the Shovers collected 3 wins against the Crabs. Conversely, Eric Lynch shined in the Crabs with his 466 despite his team notching only a single win. When Push Comes To Shove begins with 2nd place, while the Crabs start off with 7th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Spanked traded lane malfunctions with The Good Sons. Headlined by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Thomas Lin and his 593 series, Spanked celebrated a clean sweep over the Sons. Countering this, Tracey Robertson called the shots for the Sons with her 344 despite her team getting swept. Spanked gets underway in 1st place, while the Sons begin in 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Hulk Smash! did battle with Bowlers of Mass Destruction. In spite of the prowess of Carl Goetz with his 534 series, the Hulk accomplished only 1 win against Mass Destruction. On the other side, Jarrod Guthrie commanded Mass Destruction with his miraculous 474 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hulk Smash! starts out in 6th place, while Mass Destruction commences the season with 3rd.

Bowlers lounging at The 200 Club include: David Codding (200), Dennis Laube (213), Pat Searcy (204), and Thomas Lin (212,217)

New personal high games were set tonight by Dennis Laube (213, previous best 200), Jason Carpio (191, previous best 178), and Shannon Myers (150, previous best 148). NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 8th-place The Good Sons (estimated hcp 199) will spend some quality time with 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction. The Sons are expected to breathtaking and sweep the series; while Mass Destruction is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 1st-place Spanked will share a couple of pitchers with 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 92). Spanked might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Hulk ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 4th-place Top Guns will socialize with 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 114). Top Guns will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to sweep the series; while the Crabs will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 5th-place D-Day (estimated hcp 27) will challenge 2nd-place When Push Comes To Shove. D-Day is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Shovers are anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
