By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2002 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The fifth week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Janelle (Laube) Lamar picked up this week's high game (180) and series (466) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 195, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 559. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Top Guns took turns kicking the ball return with Team 5. Even though highlighted by the skills of Bob Brunker with his below-average 473 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against Team 5. On the adjacent lane, David Parre oversaw Team 5 with his above-average 506 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns drop 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Team 5 moves 1 spot to 1st.

On lanes 19 & 20: Team 6 shared a few beers with Pop Gunns. While headlined by Janelle (Laube) Lamar, Doug Erickson with their 466 series, with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Janelle Lamar as well as #1 Head-to-Head , Team 6 accomplished only 1 win against Pop Gunns. As for the opposition, #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz took the lead in Pop Gunns with his above-average 559 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Team 6 remains in 5th place, while Pop Gunns remain in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: GRRR kept grabbing the balls of UnaBowlers. In spite of the prowess of Byron Hester with his below-average 363 series, GRRR got swept by the UnaBowlers. On the other half of the score sheet, Justin Strelow shined in the UnaBowlers with his 463 as they swept the competition. GRRR remains in 6th place, while the UnaBowlers remain in 4th.

NEXT WEEK:

• First, on lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Pop Gunns will compete against 4th-place UnaBowlers. Pop Gunns are expected to perform weakly, but split the series with the UnaBowlers; while the UnaBowlers are forecast to see their team average take a dive while they keep the series tied.
• Moving to lanes 19&20, 6th-place GRRR will throw some gutter balls with 1st-place Team 5. GRRR might see a pretty significant "market correction" to their averages, but split the series with Team 5; while Team 5 ought to see their team average take a dive while they keep the series tied.
• Finally, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Top Guns will match wits with 5th-place Team 6. Top Guns are predicted to watch their averages take a plunge, but split the series with Team 6; while Team 6 is anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they keep the series tied.
