Nominee – Janelle (Laube) Lamar

Janelle (Laube) Lamar is a nominee for induction into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame during the Fall 2012 season.

Nellie, as she is known throughout the league, made her league debut in the Fall of 2000 as a member of the legendary Blue Ballers team. A perennial favorite throughout the years, Janelle's infectious personality made her name a staple in the end-of-the-season awards. She's been named the Underdog of the Season in the Fall of 2007 (runner-up in both the Spring 2003 and Fall 2004 season) and twice was the recipient of the Bob Brunker Good Sportmanship Award – the first time in the Spring 2006 season and then again in the Spring of 2010. She was the runner-up for the same award in both the Spring 2005 and Fall 2009 seasons. Throughout her 17 seasons in the league, Janelle was named the Most Valuable Bowler six times and came away with #1 Power Ranked Bowler nods four times. She won a championship in the Spring of 2000. Her name appears on a number of the Top 25 lists – most in the top ten – including: Most Prolific Bowlers, Most Games Won, Most MVBs of All Time, Most Consistent Bowlers, Bowlers Handing Out the Most Sweeps, and currently ranks at the #5 best Female Bowler in the league's history. Here are a few comments about Nellie from those that nominated her:

"It is hard to find anyone else who lights up the bowling alley with a smile like Nellie (except when getting accused of sneaking in alcohol).""She's competitive and yet she's good natured with her competition. She likes to have a good time with fellow co-workers and loves sports of all kinds.""Having been both on a team with Nellie and faced her as a member of the opposing team, I can honestly say that her attitude on and around the lanes was that of someone always looking to have fun and wanted those around her to have fun as well. Her smile and incredibly sweet personality could always light up any contest no matter the stakes.""She brought fun and laughter into an already crazy crowd.""She always has a smile on her face, and a beer in her hand! Have her show you how to control your ball with the vaccuum she creates with her hands! Amazing! One of my favorite seasons was bowling with Janelle."

The GutterAlley Hall of Fame Screening Committee is proud to put Janelle up for enshrinement.
