Hall of Fame – The Rules 

Hall of FameBelow are the rules surrounding the GutterAlley Hall of Fame.

ELIGIBILITY
A bowler must have bowled in four full seasons (two years). The seasons do not have to consecutive. He/she may then be considered for enshrinement the season following their fourth completed season. Check out the list of eligible bowlers not yet inducted into the Hall of Fame.

NOMINATION PROCESS
To nominate a bowler, please fill out the online nomination form before the conclusion of the position round each season. The nomination form will require the bowler's name and a description as to why you feel the candidate should be inducted. All submitted nominees are presented to the Screening Committee for review.

SCREENING COMMITTEE
The Screening Committee is comprised of four members, initially made up of the first four inductees. The Committee will review and recommend individuals to be reviewed for enshrinement by the GutterAlley bowling community (all past and present bowlers that completed at least one full season). To advance to the GutterAlley bowling community, an individual requires three affirmative votes from the Screening Community.The Screening Committee may put forth a maximum of six finalists each season to the bowling community with only one candidate being enshrined per season beginning with the Fall 2011 season.

BOWLING COMMUNITY
The purpose of the GutterAlley bowling community is to review carefully a candidate's accomplishments both in and towards the league before casting a vote in favor of enshrining the person into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame. The bowling community is comprised of anyone with a valid account on GutterAlley.com that has completed at least one full season in the league, beginning with the Spring 2000 season. If the bowling community has not elected a candidate for four consecutive seasons, the person's candidacy will be suspended for two seasons (1 year) and will not be considered during this time. Following this two season period, the candidate will be eligible to be reconsidered by the Screening Committee.

VOTING
Each member of the bowling community that meets the requirements to participate will be assessed a number of votes based upon his or her tenure within the league. Bowlers who have not yet completed a full season are ineligible to vote for the Hall of Fame candidates. Bowlers who have completed 1-2 full seasons are allowed one vote. Bowlers who have completed 3-4 season are allowed two votes. Bowlers who have completed 5+ seasons are allowed three votes. Hall of Famers are allowed four. Voters are not required to cast all of their available votes.Voting shall begin on the week following the mid-season position and shall remain open until the week before the Finals (Week 15).

CEREMONY
The seasonal inductee will be announced at the end of the season awards ceremony and presented with the GutterAlley Hall of Fame trophy.

INAUGURAL INDUCTION
The inaugural induction into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame will be the one exception to the rules stated above. Following the position round of the Spring 2011 season, every bowler that qualifies for induction into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame will be put up before the bowling community for possible induction, voting ballot allotments applied. The top four vote getters will be part of the inaugural class of inductees and will also be given a role in the Screening Committee.
