Welcome to Season #35, the Spring 2017 session.
35 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while this season may not have set a lot of records, it still has a few firsts and a lot of fun moments. And the surprise come-from-behind championship win by Omaha Hambone marks the first title win in quite some time that didn't come from ne of the long-time dynasties.
- We ended the season with 183 200+ games, tying for 8th place out of the 32 seasons we have scores for.
- Dustin Schemltz's 268 in week 3 was 33 pins above his previous high game of 235, earning him a spot on the The 25 Biggest Personal Game Jumps
- Via the benefit of the bonus rolloff game, Aaron Barber, Michael Mead, Michael Gordon, and Bob Brunker all moved up in the Top 25 Total Pins in a Single Season.
- Also via the bonus game: Aaron Barber, Ken Wilson, and Michael Mead are now the only bowlers in league history to roll 49 games in a single season.
- Week 16, game 3: The hypothetical matchup of Dennis Cummings vs. Carl Goetz results in the 2nd greatest underdog smackdown in league history. Dan Crosby also piled on the pain for Carl in that same game with the 14th biggest underdog smackdown.
- The week 4 matchup between Frankee's Uncles and FYWFK had a handicap of 266, the 4th largest in league history.
- In Week 7, Aubrey Moren became the 5th person in our league's history to roll 200 200+ games. Also, in week 13, Aaron Barber rolled his 100th.
- In Week 4, Ken Wilson became the 2nd person to log 100 600+ series.
- Jeremy Varnell rolled 36 games this season, making him the most-utilized sub in league history. The previous record holder was Todd Way. At that rate he might as well have been a regular roster bowler, and we are excited that he plans to join us for real in the Fall!
