Welcome to the Summer 2021 bowling season, our 44th season of bowling! (Also referred to as "MidSummer 2021" for technical reasons, since the abbreviation 'S21' was already taken by the Spring 2021 season.)
The Summer Season is Here!

Spring 2021 Recap
Here is your Spring 2021 Recap, where you can find out who won all the individual awards that we didn't collect prize money for but they still at least matter for bragging rights!

Emergency Relocation Saves the Championship!

All that money that was just spent on new floors, furniture, ball returns, and flatscreens. (Click to view larger)
With the sudden sale and closure of AMF Pro Bowl Lanes just three days before our final session of bowling, we were unsure if we'd be able to finish things up properly or just call it where we stood. Luckily for the team that ended up securing the championship last night, Gladstone Bowl helped us out by offering us four lanes to use so we could finish our season! It wasn't ideal squeezing 6 teams onto 4 lanes and maybe wasn't technically legal by USBC standards since the 3rd & 4th place teams bowled on separate sets of lanes, but thanks to Gladstone's help we were able to make the best of a bad situation. And with the top 4 teams all having a realistic shot at the title, it was a championship worth fighting for!

Well That Was Unexpected…
The eleventh week of Spring 2021 saw a shocking turn of events as two underdog teams clobbered the top two teams in the league, right before the final position round. Now we suddenly have four teams that each have very realistic chances of walking out with the championship next Tuesday. The events last night also inspired a couple of new Top 25 Lists. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (161) and series (433) for the woman. As for the men, James Tott snagged this week's high game with a 235, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 614. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Week 10 RoboRecap
A stagnated tenth week of Spring 2021 resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (164) and series (391) for the woman, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (228) and series (584) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

League of The Forgotten
In the early months of the long, long ago year of 2021, twelve ball warriors who had fought and struggled on the lanes of North Kansas City for more than two decades found themselves discarded into the gutter, forgotten to time like the lonely souls in unmarked paupers graves. This is the story of their defiant effort one Tuesday evening to remind the world: "Yes, we still exist."

Quick and dirty
Scoot is heading out of town and is a bit rushed, so this will be a quick and dirty recap. The eighth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler rolled a new personal best game. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (139) and series (353) for the woman. As for the men, Scott Murdock (!?!) snagged this week's high game with a 247, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 640. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Groupies’ Burning Balls

Musical Chairs
After some false starts and lots of lane shuffling (first due to this week accidentally not flagged as a position round in the computer, then by the fact that we had been shifted 4 lanes to the left leading to the wrong set of lanes getting reset) the Spring 2021 position round finally got underway, resulting in changes only near the middle of the standings. As always seems to be the case, JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (156) and series (421) for the woman. As for the men, Michael Gordon snagged this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Bowling. So. Very. High.
There were so many high scores rolled this week that it was easy to forget that the season is half over and next week is already the position round! One bowler set a new personal best series, and another rolled new personal high game. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (138) and series (394) for the woman. As for the men, Curtis Whiles snagged this week's high game with a new personal best 245, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 650. And that's not even all! Read on for all the rest of the details!

Ducktales FTW (FN…)
Last week we saw Larry, I'm On Ducktales leapfrog into first place. This week, a third of the way into the season, Ducktales has shown they have no intention of letting go of that spot as Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (225) and series (655) for the men and win the bowling trifecta. Meanwhile JoAnne Barber, as usual, picked up this week's high game (131) and series (380) for the woman. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Week 3 RoboRecap
The third week of Spring 2021 saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (136) and series (387) for the women. As for the men, Michael Gordon snagged this week's high game with a 254, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor and Michael Gordon, who tied with a 689. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

Welcome (to 1st), Groupies!
The second week of Spring 2021 saw two teams climb in the standings, with one sliding into first place by total pins. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (129) and series (356) for the woman. As for the men, Michael Gordon snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 591. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Gordon’s Alive
The Spring 2021 season is now underway, with six teams entering the 12-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy and imaginary prize money. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (145) and series (361) for the woman, while Michael Gordon completely forgot that you're supposed to sandbag the first week and earned this week's high game (245) and series (658) for the men in a stunning performance. Read on for all the rest of the details!

An Extremely Late Fall 2020 Recap
This has been a really busy last several weeks so I apologize that it has take SO LONG to get this out. Here is an abbreviated Fall 2020 Recap, where you can find out who won all the individual awards that we didn't collect prize money for but they still at least matter for bragging rights.

LeTits Now Champs
The Fall 2020 season came to a close today, with absolutely no movement in the standings as LETITSNOW held on to their season-long first place lead to clinch the championship. But elsewhere in the league James Tott snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Dennis Walling with a 612. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Spencer For Hire
Ben Spencer is on fire, and apparently also for hire. After two weeks of some of his best bowling ever, Ben is now already fielding offers for next season. And that's no surprise after he quadfectaed this week by earning Most Valuable Bowler, #1 Power Ranked Bowler, and #1 Head-to-Head Bowler, as well as winning his division in the Tournament of Champions.

LeT it sNow Grabbable
After suffering devastating losses two weeks ago, it's now mathematically possible for Let It Snow to be knocked out of first place next week. On the other hand, it's also possible for Let ItS to clinch the championship. But we don't care about next week right now, you're hear to read about this week.
