It’s a Wrap! Finals Next Week

Posted by Ken November 30, 2010 Fall 2010, Week 15 View Score Sheets

Week 15 is now in the books and it turned out to be a historical one for the Pin Pricks. Not only did they clinch the league title but they propelled themselves to have the second best record in league history! Congrats to this season's champs Ian Goetz, Carl Goetz, David Codding and Ken M. Wilson. Ready to hear the results from Tuesday night? Let's get this party started.Having come a long way since their initial debut in the league, the members of Feed the Monkey added another four wins to their season record against loud-mouth opponents Ray & Stevie. Led once again by Chris Able – who ended his night with a 411 series – the Monkeys will end their season in 7th place despite a great push there for a while in an attempt to rise into sixth. They will face the blind team once again in the Finals. The second matchup of the evening pitted 3rd place Ground Zero Mosque against 4th place Kitten Mittons. In what may be a preview of their matchup next week in the Finals, Ground Zero – led by a seemingly recharged Jason Carpio who shot a 580 series – took the upper hand in the battle en route to a 4-0 victory over the Mittons. The Kittens' Kelly Sands put up the biggest numbers for his team, ending his night with a 442 series. Both teams remain in their respective positions in the league standings. While Ground Zero could move up into 2nd place, Kitten Mittons can finish no higher than 4th and could possibly drop to fifth in the Finals. In what turned out to be a coronation for the first place team, the Pin Pricks put on a clinic against opponents Bowl Movement. With David Codding's 638 series leading the way, the Pricks secured the season's crown by adding four more notches in their win column. The Movement, led by Jerry Krall and his 393 series, simply couldn't provide the saltpeter necessary to keep the Pricks down. Bowl Movement remains in 5th place but could climb as high as 4th next week. The final matchup of the night pitted league powerhouse No Pinheads against up-and-comers Drink and Hurl. After a shaky start in Game #1, the Pinheads regrouped under the team-leading series compliments of lead-off roller Aubrey Moren's 529 series along with this week's Most Valuable Bowler performance straight out of Phil Schroeder, the team regrouped and showed why they are a force to be reckoned with this season. Ending the night with a 3-1 victory, the Pinheads remain in 2nd place by a half a game. The Hurler's Aaron Chandler put up the biggest series for his team – a 417 – but it simply wasn't enough to steal more than one victory. No Pinheads will either remain in 2nd place next week or slip to 3rd place while Drink and Hurl could climb one spot into 5th.Several bowlers made their way into having a post-Thanksgiving drink in The 200 Club this week. They include: Aubrey Moren (203), Carl Goetz (222, 210), David Codding (232, 213), Jason Carpio (208, 201), Kelly Sands (204) and Ken M. Wilson (236, 202).For the full results of this week, please check out Season 22, Week 15.Winners of this season's individual awards, which wrap up the week before the Finals, are as follows:Men's High Series Scratch: Carl Goetz (680)Women's High Series Scratch: Freda Schroeder (511)Men's High Game Scratch: Ken M.   FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"Wait...how can we lose to this team?!? All they've got is a midget lead-off bowler, a reformed skin head, Sasquatch and some smelly foreigner in the anchor spot. It's like a bad Marvel movie every Tuesday night."

Ryan Simonet, coming up short in their bid to unseat Ground Zero Mosque from 3rd place.
