While the world was watching pranks play out right before their very eyes Tuesday, several others took place on the lanes during Week #10 action of the Spring 2014 season. Half the teams in the league swapped places in the standings by bowlers other than the usual suspects. To top off the report, the seemingly invulnerable team at the top of the heap took it on the chin in a surprising upset. Read on, friends...and, we promise, there are no April Fool's jokes in here.In the first matchup of the night, the Schwetty Balls decided to swap their current anchor – Bob Brunker – out due to his recent downswing in scores (and the fact that Scoot has led the team the past two weeks!) as they faced off against Split It & Hit It. Their plan worked as Brunker rebounded in a big way. Putting up a team-leading 606 series, Brunker led the team to a 3-1 victory. Former Rookie of the Season Cliff Barendsen made an appearance as a sub for Split It and provided the most fire power for the team with his 512 series, winning Game #2 by a margin of only five pins. Despite the wins, Schwetty falls one place into 3rd while Split It & Hit It drops down one spot into 7th place. The last time that Bowltron faced Mark It Zero, the teams battled one another to a standstill with the narrowest of margins. This week's reunion tour was almost a repeat performance. After a big win in Game #1 for Zero, led by Kody Karnes and his 603 series alongside this week's #1 Power Ranked bowler performance by teammate Eric Lynch, the guys looked to continue their quest for a winning record. Bowltron's Bill Krejci had other plans. Hoisting a team leading 597 series Krejci led the way as 'tron reversed their fortunes with a narrow win in Game #2, a blowout victory in Game #3, and a total pins squeaker by eleven to go 3-1 on the night. Factoring in the wins and losses, neither team managed to move up or down in the standings as Bowltron remains in 4th while Mark It Zero holds onto 5th place.Since they were swept in the position round, The Finger Holes have dished out nothing but sweeps themselves. Facing opponents UpgrayeDD, the F-Hole's Aubrey Moren put up Tuesday's highest output across the league with his 617 series while teammate Dennis "Pops" Laube logged the week's Most Valuable Bowler performance to propel the team back up into 2nd place. UpgrayeDD, led once again by rookie of the season candidate Josh Robison and his 413 series, found themselves on the losing end of the matchup and are one loss away from tying this season's longest losing streak of 13 games by Twerking Balls. Come on, guys...snap out of it! UpgrayeDD remains in 8th place. The most surprising outcome of the evening took place down on Lanes 47 & 48 where Pinterest suffered its largest matchup loss of the entire season, dropping an unprecedented 1.5 games to opponents Twerking Balls. After an 11-pin victory for the Twerkers in Game #1, compliments of a well-rounded effort by the entire team but led overall by Teresa Deterding and her 436 series, the league leaders fought back to even the series by taking Game #2. Pinterest's anchor Seth Gunderson put up a 602 series in an effort to take back the rest of the series but the teams actually tied in Game #3. Total pins went to Pinterest cutting their lead over the rest of the league to only 7.5 games. Twerking Balls moves up one place in the league standings to 6th place. The Tournament of Champions now sits like this:Division 1 = Ian Goetz (25), Seth Gunderson (15)Division 2 = Phil Schroeder (19), Scott Murdock (16)Division 3 = Teresa Deterding (12), Bryan Mohr (11)Division 4 = Michael Gordon (21), Michael Smith/AJ Hofmann (13)Bowlers not fooling around in The 200 Club this week include: Aubrey Moren (220, 234), Bill Krejci (203, 224), Bob Brunker (206, 209), Cliff Barendsen (208), Dennis "Pops" Laube (213), Eric Lynch (222), Ian Goetz (204), Kody Karnes (203, 201), Rob Kaszuba (232), and Seth Gunderson (246).See you next Tuesday!
